I was just thinking of this today.

You know how they have the Royal Rumble match to determine the number 1 contender for Wrestlemania, but what if they kept the King Of The Ring pay-per-view so that the winner of the tournament gets a title shot at Summerslam. They're always saying how they want Summerslam to be like Wrestlemania, what better way than that?

some of my favorites

Backlash 2009
Extreme Rules 2010
Invasion 2001
Backlash 2004

Judgement Day 2006.

Great pay off in an awesome tag-team fued between MNM and Londrick.
This is the last good thing in WWE tag team wrestling, this fued made me mark for both teams.

Isn't there a poll on WWE.com which PPV to bring back and King Of The Ring is on the list?

There are alot of TNA PPVs I like mostly from 2006/2007, but I have really liked the Hogan/Bischoff era since Lockdown. 2006 had one of my favorite moments in wrestling: Christian winning his first of two NWA titles with the crowd giving him the praise he deserves. Unfortunately, I don't think WWE will ever allow Christian to win the big one again. The best part of 2009 was Christian in my opinion having the most solid matches every week and becoming the best champion in the WWE last year. Of course that is just my opinion, bu Christian has the charisma and ability to get it done and has proven that for years. Even when he was the silent introvert of the Brood, he was awesome. Speaking of awesome, I realize Christian maybe a little older but I don't understand why people like Christian have to take a back seat to the Miz. Yes, the Miz is talented...on the mic but I can never recall a singles match of The Miz's that I liked.

I agree I like King of the Ring. I particularly enjoyed 1998. I liked 2000, 2001 and 2002. I haven't really seen the other ones. I have seen all the past Wrestlemanias and Summerslams though. My favorite match at King of the Ring 1998 is the KOTR finals between The Rock and Ken Shamrock. I wish that the Rock would have won, but I was a Shamrock fan as well. I know almost everyones favorite match is either The Hell in the Cell or the First Blood match. Both are good, but I just liked the finals the best. In 2000, I felt that the tag titles match, the finals and the main event were good. In 2001, nothing topped Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon for me, but the title match was great with Booker T debuting and it was a pretty solid match between three of the best. The finals in 2001 were alright, but I thought it was Angle and Edge's weakest match. 2002 was just solid was top to bottom. The two semi-finals were both great, cruiserweight title was phenomenal, my favorite match was Angle vs. Hogan at this one, but the finals though short was great and the title match was decent. I liked the Rock's presence in that match and always wondered how a triple threat between Rock, HHH and Taker would have went though the one at Vengeance with Rock, Angle and Taker was really good and one of the best title matches that year.

I liked Canadian Stampede in 1997. Some of the In Your Houses were good. I liked the one where Shawn and Big Kev defeated Bulldog and Yokozuna for the tag belts. Unfortunately, Clarence Mason reversed the decision because Owen wasn't in the match and it made sense but it pissed me off haha.

bigslimjj 08-22-2010 08:51 PM

The IYH was in my hometown and was awesome. Taker came up through the ring and took down Nash. Michaels swung down from the top of the house set, and faced Owen Hart in a great match. Austin stunned J.R. It don't get much better than that.

Pretty much any PPV from 1998-2000, for some reason I have especially fond memories of Fully Loaded 2000.
