I think Kane needs a new finisher. Discuss.

So Kane tries to look all powerful and dominating and such, but I'm just not impressed by a chokeslam anymore. It was cool back in the day, but does it really cut it these days? Something like the tombstone would be adequate, but obviously he's not allowed to do that anymore.

I won't go in to too many details (so not to spoil raw), but they keep trying to give Kane a push as a monster, then they don't give us anything fresh to make us think he is so unstoppable. Every time he just comes out there and chokeslams somebody and JR goes "bah gawd, he's unstoppable, he's crazy, monster, stunner, slobberknocker, barn burner, INSANE!!!!" *yawn*

What do you guys think? Does he need a new finisher? If so, what move do you suggest?

The CyNick 04-20-2004 02:23 AM

Kane bores me.

I hate the way they book him.

He dominates some worthless guys for a while, then he goes 50-50 with Shane.

Then he goes back to being dominant, only to get killed by Taker and JOB to Edge.

Now he's back to killing people, I'm sure someone like Shelton Banjamin will cut him down and we'll be back to square one.

In terms of a new finisher (sorry to go off topic there) its tough with big dudes. He oculd do a powerbomb, but thats Batista's move, plus every big guy does that move. His only other decent move is the Clothesline from the top, but I dont think that should be a finisher.

They seem to be going back to the 80s with all these gimmicks, so maybe he should have an 80s finisher, like a nerve hold, or a heart punch. Actually, nobody uses the Torture Rack, maybe he could do that. It could fit in to him wanting to inflict pain on everyone by holding on to the move after the bell.

Funky Fly 04-20-2004 02:24 AM

Powerbomb inot a piledriver. Not that it will ever happen, but it would make him look more dominant.

Gorilla Press into a backbreaker?

Release powerbomb? Like a regular one, but he throws them across the ring?

Stickman 04-20-2004 02:26 AM

I agree, his chokeslam is weak. And his gimmick is shit.

Bazooka 04-20-2004 02:32 AM

That one move that's like an Inverted suplex only the wrestler is picked up vertically and then dropped on his head. Is it Emerald Fusion?

Rock Bottom 04-20-2004 02:34 AM

I think he needs to use a Delayed Brainbuster. Call it the Kanebuster or something, I don't know.

PureHatred 04-20-2004 02:35 AM

Standing Iconoclasm. This guy in NWA, Dallas, does it; looks great.

Describe it for us.

PureHatred 04-20-2004 02:44 AM

Damn, my bad. Basically it sets up like Scott Hall's Razor's Edge, except the opponent is facing the same direction as say, Kane, in this instance. He then flips the guy forward and the move finishes like a layout suplex. Looks really impresive done by a big guy.

The Torture Rack is a nice idea. How about a reverse powerbomb? Though, I guess that's too similar to an electric chairdrop.

Edit >> Standing Iconoclasm is a good move. Delayed Brainbuster looks wicked awesome.

Ahhh, that would be sweet.

I also like the torture rack idea. Maybe he could use the Iconoclast as a regular finisher, then at PPVs follow up with the Rack. The opponent wold be passed out, and the ref would just ring the bell, and give Kane a 5 count to release the hold.

PureHatred 04-20-2004 03:09 AM

Torture rack idea owns. In my *ahem* EWR diary (yes, I am a huge geek) on the .400 boards I gave Bradshaw a torure rack finisher and called it The Hostile Takeover. That move isn't used enough. People must be scared of Luger cooties. Or as they are known in the business, "Loogies."

LOL

Ferocious 04-20-2004 08:16 AM

Try these on Kane and see what you think fits best........

A Move I saw a guy in an indy fed in the UK use It was set up like a fisherman suplex with the one leg hooked but after the initial lift of the floor the guy turned it into a sit down powerbomb with the leg still hooked (for those of you with access to WWE Smackdown here comes the Pain on PS2 my nephew tells me its called the 99 Crusher on there.)

A DDT Type manouver possibly like the Raven Effect (usually id say give a DDT Finsher to a smaller guy but I think Kane could hold it)

With Ron Killings gone you could give Kane the Dominator

The Invertibreaker (someone seriously needs to start using that again - although with his size Kane might find the set up difficult)

The Full Nelson Slam - I saw test use this a few times ages ago when he was in T & A and it looked impressive when done by a big guy

D'lo Browns old Sky High

The rack could be a great idea I think although it might not suits Kanes character to have a submission hold, The Rack would look great if he did it.

Sephiroth 04-20-2004 08:33 AM

Kane wil be a face and he will have hardcore sex with Lita...thought i let you guys know that :-\

Ron Simmons (sp?) mate :D

K Kwik has been gone a long time ;)

I'd give him a 450 splash from the top rope.

I knew that I saw your name there the other day, I just didn't want to ask if you were from TPWW in case it wasn't you :(

Goldbird 04-20-2004 09:01 AM

I would recommend A-Train's Pendulum BackBreaker.

NO! Dun flame me.

Oops Schoolboy error

SuperSlim 04-20-2004 09:26 AM

I think that in terms of submission the torture rack could be used here and there but more often he could use some type of nerve hold like Meng used to do in WCW. Ya know he hooks it in and the opponent goes down and taps... then stops movin and Kane refuses to let go even after the 5 count. In that case a DQ doesn't matter. He could do it against Spike Dudley allowin Spike to win but Kane still looks "vicious" because he refuses to let go and also with the size and strength of Kane... although it may be dangerous to do it what he could do is lock in the hold while they are standing, lift them up and chokeslam them down still havin that move locked in. ouch I just thought about it actually happenin.

I think that would be good for a new Kane finisher instead of his played out regular chokeslam.

PorkSoda 04-20-2004 10:18 AM

Since Kane is a powerhouse and WWE is probably going to lead him into another one of those destructive type of things, WWE will probably keep the chokeslam because it makes him look more dominant, as he does not get taken off of his feet.

Running powerslam is a suggestion. Or the Dominator, that's mentioned above and would definitly fit Kane. Perhaps the Meltdown, Test's old finisher, where he gets his opponent in an abdominal stretch, and lifts their opponent up into a shoulder breaker type of move and slams them down. A suplex into a piledriver of some sort...I dont know.

Evolution 04-20-2004 10:52 AM

F-5?

TKO (Marc Mero/Sable's old Finisher)

Ferocious 04-20-2004 10:55 AM

F-5?? you speak pure ass

Evolution 04-20-2004 11:13 AM

Ok, just a thought seen as how Lesnar's gone. I mean, people are saying the Dominator (which is quite a good idea).

Ki-Krusher '99 is the first one, done by Low-Ki.

Problem with the Ki-Krusher '99 and the Verterbreaker, is that WWE doesn't even let their workers do piledrivers on regular basis. These two are much more dangerous than any Owendriver '97 or kneeling tombstone.

Not a bad idea.

Full Nelson's kind've a generic move, not really a "devastating finisher," though it does look impressive.

The Sky High looks pretty weak.

The F-5 will forever be Brock's move, and the crowd's seen it a ton over the past 2 years.

The TKO is basically a super RKO, and it's not good to have someone one-upping the big young star.

Kane is a big slow guy. He needs amove that is executed somewhat slowly that looks good. That's why I say Delayed Brainbuster. He is strong enough, he has the leverage, and it is slow. But I don't know how he would use it against all the big guys now. They are kinda tall. You never see delayed suplexes anymore.

Just some things Im thinking up that I think would look cool... (Real or made up...)

Powerbomb to Face Crusher... Starts out like a powerbomb, then flips them down into an X Factor type move, only Kane would stay standing and "Push" them down...

Gorilla Press DVD... Gorilla Press into a DVD...

Gates of Hell... A Walls of Jericho :shifty:

Dominator... Like some have said...

Running/Throwing Powerbomb... Someone mentioned it... Have him have two versions... One standing with them flying across the ring and another, running one for throwing them further... Also opens up the option of it out of the ring...

Tourture Rack Rolling DVDs... This isnt the ideal move for Kane, but it'd still look cool for a smaller guy... Use the Tourture Rack, and once in a while hit DVDs and stand right back up still holding them...

Suplex Bomb... A Vertical Suplex into a Sitout Powerbomb... Or Fisherman's Suplex into a Sitout, like someone said...

Chokeslam Bomb... A Chokeslam (One handed) into a Sitout Powerbomb might actually look pretty cool... It'd be enough of a change to make it fresh...

Bah, I was bored... Maybe Ill think of more later...

Nah, that sounds weak.

I'm picturing it, but it's still a basic (WWE style) DVD

Tossing some chump out of the ring sounds pretty vicious

I doubt Kane is flexible/agile enough to be able to roll through on a DVD

AKA the Orange Crush Bomb and the Ki-Krusher '99

Sounds good, but I bet executing it would be hard, especially on bigger guys and fools who don't just with the move.

The Naitch 04-20-2004 05:29 PM

Give him a move called "The Burial"

because his career is pretty much buried

Sensei Of Mattitude 04-20-2004 05:32 PM

Kane should use the Razors Edge

Mr. Nerfect 04-20-2004 05:47 PM

I like the idea of the Razor's Edge and The Dominator. I also like the Gorilla Press DVD and the Release Powerbomb.

But I'm one of the few that think the Chokeslam is all well and good. I'd like to see Kane add some of these movies into his arsenal, though.

AareDub 04-20-2004 07:31 PM

The only thing that bothers me about the thought of a razors edge type move or a power bomb is that it might end up looking too much like the Last Ride. Then again, the Undertaker may not even be using that anymore.

The stalling brainbuster thing sounds pretty sweet. It would be harder on big guys, but my mind is drawing a blank trying to think of big guys on the Raw roster. There's Mark Henry and A-train (or so we hear), but all the ones that would be really tough are on Smackdown. Unless I'm forgetting somebody?

Boondock Saint 04-20-2004 07:32 PM

He used to use a powerbomb for a bit. I think when he was with Taker, around early 2001 when they were pushed as top faces against Austin/HHH

glycerine 04-20-2004 07:34 PM

his finisher should be to eat the person, i'd mark out for that, and im sure itd boost ratings, untilll Kanes liek the only one left..

Garrison Cade, Steiner, Test and even Val Venis are pretty big too.

MVP 04-20-2004 08:03 PM

Kane is ruined to badly anyway.

Why even bother with a new finisher.

I think he could handle Cade and Venis. The other two 'might' be a problem, but with any luck neither of them will be on my tv for quite a while longer. Now that I think about it more, HHH may be harder to pick up than any of those 4.
