James Bond: Blood Stone

With Bond (films) in limbo... Salvation for Bondites. In the form of a game. Starring Daniel Craig as James Bond and Judi Dench as M. The game also stars Joss Stone who sings the theme song "I'll Take It All" (apparantly written by Stone and Dave Stewart).

Not brand new news, but no thread and I'm actually looking forward to it!

Im more interested in Goldeneye Wii..

Mooияakeя™ 09-02-2010 05:35 PM

I'm actually hyped for this. Bring it on. Still don't understand how the studio can't produce a film that with rake profits in.

Kalyx triaD 09-02-2010 05:41 PM

Won't see a 007 film in a while, because they didn't rake profits in.

Bond pretty much lives in the games for now.

Mooияakeя™ 09-02-2010 06:09 PM

Oh i'm sorry.

Die Another Day
Budget - $140 million
Worldwide gross - $431,971,116

Casino Royale
Budget $150 million
Worldwide gross $594,239,066

Quantum of Solace
Budget - US$200 million
Worldwide gross - US$586,090,727

No profits at all there then.

Yeah, I don't really get it. That's a pretty beefy profit, if I've ever seen one.

Probably would have been even more if Kalyx didn't support piracy.

Funky Fly 09-02-2010 07:55 PM

It's not Bond that's not profitable, it's MGM. There's no doubt that MGM is going under, and that means no Bond for a while until the franchise finds a new home.

Kalyx triaD 09-02-2010 08:10 PM

Har d har har

Maybe they should try making movies with smaller budgets? $200 million for a Bond movie is stupid.

No it's not. Lots of Bond movies have big name stars, multiple elaborate sets, expensive vehicles and explosions up the wazoo. Shit is expensive.

Mooияakeя™ 09-03-2010 04:37 PM

I'm sure they could "ease against future profits". or whatever it's called.

They could film two films at once and release them both in a year. If they go 3D they'll rake it fucking in too. £10 to see a 3D film is 'double your money - try to get rich' style. See Avatar. Stupid money.

Funky Fly 09-04-2010 01:12 AM

Dunno, Avatar's budget was half a billion dollars. They made bank, but it was a hell of a gamble.

Mooияakeя™ 09-04-2010 01:15 PM

Apparantly it was $237 million, with $150 million for promotion. $400 for $2bn+ profits. Fucking hell.

D Mac 11-02-2010 02:33 PM

Only a 5.0 from IGN. Ouch

Rammsteinmad 11-02-2010 02:40 PM

I don't like Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Funky Fly 11-02-2010 02:51 PM

Me neither. But then his movies haven't felt like Bond movies at all, so that might be affecting my opinion of the portrayal.

Rammsteinmad 11-02-2010 02:54 PM

To be honest, I just can't stand him in any film. The guy is an awful actor. And isn't he supposed to be a prequel Bond? How the fuck can that be when he looks older than all the other Bond actors combined?

D Mac 11-02-2010 03:02 PM

Nah, Craig rules. Bond is supposed to be gritty and emotionless.

Bond is supposed to be charming and witty. I'll watch American action films for gritty and emotionless.
