How far have you driven/would you drive for a WWE event?
I drove about 61 miles to go to Raw last night (about an hour and fifteen minutes). It's a little bit further when I drive to the Mohegan Sun for a WWE event. The drive to WrestleMania 20 at MSG, which I also attended, was about 190 miles (about three and a half hours). I don't think I'd drive further than that.
How far have you guys driven/would you drive for a WWE live event? |
not more than 5 unless it's like a PPV.
From Columbus, Ohio to Cleveland, Ohio for Summerslam.
I went to Fayetteville NC for a Smackdown taping back in 2000 though to be fair it was on the way to SC where I went to college. Got tix at the box office the same day as the show amazingly.
Does flying count? Went to Arizona for Wrestlemania and MNR last March of course if my girlfriends family didnt live there I probably never would have gone ;)
Considering I live on a dead end street...I would always have to drive far.
Given the shitty state of WWE programing lately, I wouldn't unless it was Royal Rumble or WM.
My dad drove me from Syracuse to Toronto for WMx8
Assuming that I decided to buy a ticket in the first place, not much more than an hour's drive.
I once drove 10 minutes from my house because I am too cheap to drive the 1.5 hours into Rosemont, IL. I would willingly drive farther though, not sure how far, but definitely farther.
from charlotte. nc (where i am at) to atlanta for royal rumble 2010 and wrestlemania next year
We once drove from San Antonio to Houston for a PPV so that was, like, 4 hours or so.
I usually only go to the shows in Bridgeport, so that's about 45 minutes. I'd go to Hartford or something for the Rumble. One of these years I'm going to a WM no matter where it is...WM 30 at the absolute latest since it'll be in NYC and I could just take a train.
Never really had to drive any more than a half hour due to the Detroit shows being that close. But I would probably give an hour and a half or so as maximum driving time.
I traveled from Dundee to Newcastle in 2008 for a SmackDown/ECW house show.
I went from Seattle, Washington, to Ohio for the Invasion PPV.
Ok, actually, I was visiting a friend. But there was the PPV, and I totally went to it. Y'know... since I was there. |
When I was in Phoenix last March I met some people who travel every year to go to WM, they were already talking about going to Atlanta next year.
Vancouver to Seattle. WrestleMania 19
Worthing UK, to Toronto, Canada.
3584 miles. If flying doesn't count, Worthing, UK to Manchester, UK. 280 miles. |
I don't really have to go far considering where I am. Furthest was probably Hershey, PA, so maybe 2 and a half hours.
Usually I'm within like 60 miles of an event and, at most, two hours to drive. Though I'm considering going to Mania in the Georgia Dome, and if they do it again, Toronto. |

drove about 3-4 hours to go to rumble 96...
walked about an hour and a half in 110 degree weather to go to bash 09.. i'd go pretty far if i had tickets |
Flew 2ish hours from Pittsburgh to Chicago for WM22. (Okay, so it was Vinnie Mac that actually paid for the trip, but I still had to make it.)
Drove 7 hours for Summer Slam '08 (Okay, I was actually already in Indianapolis that weekend for GenCon...) |
I never been to one and I wouldn't go out of my city of NYC if I ever did go to one- unless somebody offered a ride and free tickets.
1/2 hour to 45 minutes to Uncasville, CT for your typical Raw/Smackdown show. Always wished the Coliseum was still up, I'd be there every chance I got. Kicked around going to Bridgeport, but I hate that place so much.
Would take a train to NYC for one of the "big 4" shows. |
I've driven for about 15 minutes to get to the live shows that are in the Civic Center in my city.
But to get to Mania next year... that's probably going to be a 2 hour drive. |

Boston is like a half hour trip from my house, so that's easy.
Worcester MA and Manchester NH aren't far either. Worcester is closer to an hour and they don't run many events there any more. I haven't been there since 1999 for WWE. I've never seen WWE in Manchester altogether, but it's also 40 minutes or less. Mohegan is like an hour and a half. I've been there, but not for WWE. I would go to an event there since that drive isn't bad at all and I'd be with friends if I went. I could also play some table games. I really wouldn't travel much further than that for an event other than a Wrestlemania or Royal Rumble maybe. I wouldn't have to though. I'd definitely consider going to the next Rumble or Wrestlemania at MSG. NYC is 3 hours from me, if there's no big traffic problems. |
It would take me about 2 hours and 20 minutes to drive to Bridgeport, and about 20 minutes less to drive to Manchester, NH. I might give those a try sometime. You guys in the northeast should take a drive to Providence for a show.
The longest drive I've made for a show is about 1.5 hours in fact that so happens to be the minimum too wether it's a WWE televised event or not don't get any other major promotions here.
