TV has picture but no sound
 

Yeah, so was watching TV and the sound started just not working. The picture is still fine and everything. Its not something stupid like the mute is on or the cables aren't in all the way (checked all that), but have no idea what the problem is. Turned the XBox on and sound was playing fine on that. TVs only about a year old so that shouldn't be the problem. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Cables could be shot or the cable box (if you have one) might be faulty. Try changing the cables.

Also, make sure there isn't a mute for the cable box (again, if you have one) and you accidentally activated it. This is a possibility.

so it works with the Xbox and not the actual TV?....how old is the TV?

He mentioned how old it was.

Well I obviously decided not to pay attention to that part.

i assume you changed the channels and everything? :$ could just be one channel crapped out

Yeah that happens to some times with Time Warner just flip to a channel then flip back and it will work.
