Best Video Game generic soundtrack
 
I was playing Virtual Tennis 3. And no, the music is pretty shit, so I'm not choosing that one. But I was hearing the generic music and it got me thinking...

What is the best game to feature generic music? - I don't know if like Harry Gregson Williams doing the MGS sound track or Steve Vai on Formula 1 on the PSX counts, but in general what do you think?

Post a link if you can also so others can listen.

Off the top of my head I can't think, but I remember having fun making lyrics up to Spiderman vs Kingpin on the mega CD

Shadow of the Colossus by far. Easily the best soundtrack I've ever heard, generic or not.

Like every ninja turtles game ever. Biggest winners of that bunch are Turtles in Time and TMNT Tournament fro the SNES.

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs for SNES.

Every Double Dragon game ever (Except that shitty fighting game based on the tv show).

Battletoads & Double Dragon

Street Fighter series, especially SF2, SF3 and SSF4.

SoulCalibur series

Tekken 3 and 5.

Bioshock.

Final Fight.

Saturday Night Slam Masters.

Yeah pretty much, See, the MGS and COD (later) games I sort of count and don't. There both done by the very accomplished musicite Harry Gregson-Williams.

Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest is one of my all time favorites. Another vastly underrated (and unknown) one is Battle Arena Toshinden on the PSX, also I always used to love the soundtrack from Fighter's Destiny on the N64.

Then all the obvious ones like FF7, Zelda, F-Zero, etc etc.
