MMORPG

Does anyone play one? Does anyone want to?

I have been thinking of giving a game a go, but would prefer to play with someone else.

I dont want to get all WOW Kid on it, but wouldnt mind trying something out.

Anyone got suggestions or interested?

Basically, I think it would be cool to join a game with a few peeps that we could all play together.

I've played a few for varying lengths of time.

I'm currently giving Warhammer Online a go, but I can see me tiring of it soon.

Yep, The Old Republic.

That game looks tits. Seems pretty damn far off. I am not a Big Star wars gy but that looks super fun.

isn't there a DC Comics MMO being released soon?

City of Heroes and Phantasy Star Online Ep1/Ep2 was the most I put into MMOs (and PSO just barely qualifies). Not interested in WoW in the slightest. Very disappointed in Phantasy Star Universe. Looked forward to Champions Online for XB360 but Microsoft are being bitches about this particular genre.

DC Universe Online and FF14 may hook me for a bit, I dunno. Personally, the genre in general doesn't appeal to me aesthetically. I wish they'd try to translate the 'number crunch' essence of the games into something more 'real time' looking. I enjoyed the strides some developers made in this regard, but I don't think anybody's really trying for an MMO-action-RPG.

I'm pretty sure there is an action mmo coming out Kalyx, I just can't remember the name right now.

edit: I think this was it http://vindictus.nexon.net/

There is Lord of the rings online which just adopted a free to play system which is pretty good if your not into the Wow style. Allods online is a very good Wow clone which is Ftp as well but still manages to be unique ( I recommend the imperial side). Rune of Magic and Uncharted Waters online are worth a look as well.

Uncharted Waters online: http://global.netmarble.com/uwo/media/gameClient.asp

Lotro: http://www.lotro.com/

Allods: http://allods.gpotato.com/

Runes of Magic: http://us.runesofmagic.com/us/index.html

I currently play of Lord of the Rings online which is my favorite but make sure you read the FAQ on the free to play to avoid some confusion. Of the others Allods would be one of the best Ftp on the market imo.

There are so many MMOs out there, it is ridiculous. Only like 1% of them are any good.

WoW is great, but i'd wait until november until the new expansion comes out, and Final Fantasy 14 (XIV) is fantasticly fun (in the beta).

I tried getting into WoW but I just couldn't get past the whole you always have to work with others in order to do any of the cool stuff. Especially when you can't find anybody to group with. Super lame.

If there was one where I had the choice that would make me happy, and there probably is I just haven't put any effort into finding one.

Been playing that allods a little, seems good for a "Free" Game, though it seems as though to really enjoy it or get along you need to buy items, that will result in as much if not more than a subscription.
