So it's finally happened... A wrestling show had absolutely no wrestling on it...

Just reading the recap of NXT and the fact sticks out that, on a show that normally has at least one match, there were none.

Is this the future of wrestling? Shows (which normally have matches) with no matches whatsoever?

Fox 09-29-2010 11:34 AM

I feel like HEAT has had wrestling-less episodes before, but I dunno.

In fairness, last week they needed to tape last week's NXT, Superstars, and SmackDown. I doubt they wanted to keep the fans there for 4 hours, so they taped two quick extra segments for this week's NXT and called it a day. Hence why the ropes were blue and why most of the show was recaps.

Yeah, they could have done an extra match - but I doubt anybody wanted to see any of those divas wrestle twice in one night.

Like anyone cares about NXT right now.

Next Big Thing 09-29-2010 11:38 AM

This season of NXT is the exception rather than the norm. This show was a disaster from the beginning and it's probably for the better that there were no matches.

I wonder if the WWE cable channel will ever go the route that MTV did and just start playing episodes of The Hills.

Furious Beardsley 09-29-2010 12:49 PM

For some reason, before I even opened this, I knew it was about NXT last night.

MoFo 09-29-2010 02:43 PM

I'll still watch it for commentary.

Was lulz last time.

Slow down 'bro'

lol

On top of that, they're moving to wwe.com next week, where at that point no one is really gonna care anymore.

I really don't understand the WWE's theory behind trying to save NXT with this Divas shit. I really don't.

I think we've probably seen the end of NXT. We might get ONE more season via WWE.com, to see if people latch onto male performers over the internet again, but whatever. The only reason to watch has been to whack it to AJ/Kaitlyn/both, watch Primo and Goldust be entertaining in the background and the commentary.

Testicle 09-30-2010 12:00 AM

AJ is so f'n hot.

Testicle 09-30-2010 12:00 AM

And I believe this isn't the first time this has happened, but I understand your point.

Jeritron 09-30-2010 01:33 AM

It happened with NXT? A one hour all-diva show on it's way out. Alert me when it happens with a Raw or Smackdown

Right, but in such a case, it was chock full of promo packages full of hype for the matches on that night's PPV. They have since gone to shoving them into Raw and Smackdown at every opportunity whenever they don't have a Cena movie to promote.

Destro 2.0 10-01-2010 02:18 AM

Yeah but TNA has been basically doing it except only having like 15 minutes of wrestling in there 2 hour show.

When noid criticises something, you know somethings wrong.

Russo is cranking it just to the thought of a wrestling show with no wrestling.
