Music Nostaglia and Recommendations
 
It's really amazing how people in their 20's are clamoring for the days of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and the other popular shit that everyone seems to remember only. Just because it came out of the 60's, 70's, 80's, or 90's doesn't make it automatically good. Can anyone recommend some newer bands I should check out? Something leans to a decent power pop or hard rock sound

Old doesn't necessarily mean good and new doesn't necessarily mean derivative and generic, but it's frequently the case.

That said. Look into some funky unusual shit like Rodrigo y Gabriella or Breakestra or portugal.The Man
