IYO: Who is a better in-ring performer?
IYO- In your opinion: Who is the better in-ring performer?
http://blog.veryfinebooks.com/wp-con...c12171845.jpeg http://www.thisisworld.com/images/ww...ormal_suit.jpg I am a Batista fan when it comes to in-ring performance. My doubts were cleared when I saw him pull off an amazing match against the deadman at Wrestlemania. I can never forget his powerbomb to Shawn Michaels at a Survivor Series event which helped Randy to make the pinfall and register a win for Team Eric Bischoff leading to the departure of Stone Cold Steve Austin. I was a casual fan back then. I have a lot of favorite matches which include Big Dave in it. For e.g. #1. Batista and Flair's tag title defense against the Dudleys at the Rumble 03. #2. Batista's World title defense against Eddie Guerrero. #3. Batista's debut match against Randy Orton (Casual fan :-\). #4. Batista and Rey Rey winning the tag belts from John Morrison and Joseph Mercury. #5. Batista winning the World title from Jericho at Cyber Sunday. and a few television matches that I can't recall right now. The only three Cena matches that I have ever liked were #1. Cena versus Angle at a No Mercy event. #2. Cena's WWE title defense against JBL at a Judgement Day event in an "I Quit" Match. #3. Cena's WWE title defense against Umanga at a Royal Rumble event. Feel free to post your comments  |
Cena, because he can. Watch his early matches.

And when he wants to, he's not that bad. |
Cena, the lesser of two evils

Undertaker carried Batista in that match. Made him look like a fucking legend.
Cena has made guys look legit. Look at what he did with Barrett last Sunday. Barrett is ready for the big time with the help of Cena. |
Yeah, not a fan of Dave, and certainly not his shoddy in-ring work. Or shoddy mic work. Or... no really, he was just another example of Vince pushing a talentless hack based on the super big roided out look that Vinny Mac beats off to at night.
At least Cena actually has some talent, even if he's a victim of horrid writing. |
Cena

I picked Cena *sigh*
|
Cena by a mile. I don't know how many times it must be said, but issues with the way Cena's booked, or told to perform (not sell, 5 moves of doom, etc.) by the company, has nothing to do with his ability.
Dude can clearly go. |
I will say John Cena. When I look at a typical "Cena match", going through the motions, yes it is predictable. But that does not mean Cena is incapable of performing better. He's following the formula that the WWE has him do.
You look at the guy, he's an athlete, a phenomenal athlete. He is obviously able to perform much more entertaining and challenging moves, but why would he? The PG era, and the target audience, they don't care about that. So without dragging on, John Cena is a much better in ring performer in my opinion. And Batista is old as tits, entertaining, but he physically can't do certain things. Much like Sid Vicious can't do a one-legged drop kick from the top rope. |
Where are all these dudes picking Daniel Bryan? Defend your pick! Present your case!
|
I picked Daniel Bryan because I couldn't, in good conscience, pick the other two.
Aside, from the obvious fact that he's way fucking better than the other two. He can do pure mat/catch wrestling for an hour and I never lose interest. Every move he does means something and he make me believe that he is 100% legit. |

I voted for the one that can actually wrestle and if you don't know who that is all I have to say you seriously need to get your flarking head kicked in and yes if you couldn't tell that was another hint.
|
I went for the joke option. Well, technically, they're all joke options.
|
Going with Cena over Batista. I feel like both guys have had to be carried massively during a lot of their matches, but Cena's earlier stuff as a heel was great to watch, and unlike Batista, Cena had a hell of a match with Umaga.
I also think Cena's style is watered down and he's limited by his character, whereas Batista was limited in his overall ability. |
The thing with Batista is that, even when he gets carried through a match by a guy who can actually wrestle, the feeling you get about him isn't that he came out looking great, but rather, that he didn't look bad.
|
Cena. His matches are always entertaining
Nobody wants to see a no personality midget like Bryan mat wrestle for an hour. It's boring as fuck. I laugh when people say " Bryan because he actually wrestles" um, no he doesn't. It's fake, and I think a lot of workrate snobs forget that. |
You're just as much of a snob as the indy workrate snobs. Maybe even more so.
|
Cena v Umaga at the '07 Rumble is one of my fave matches. Its amazing, and I cant really say I have a favourite Tista or Danielson match, so Cena for me.

Please think a little more clearly next time before you make posts. God, I sound like a broken record. |
As far as in ring performer goes. I'd have to say Cena. The guy can be annoying and predictable with the 5 moves of doom but, this is the Sports Entertainment age now. I've watched some of Cena's old OVW matches and seen him perform with a much better move set than what he uses now. Fact is though he draws the crowd into his story, sells the moves he needs to sell and can still surprise you sometimes with a few new moves. He gets the job done like Hogan in the 80's but isn't afraid to lay down and put others over.

Why don't you just leave then, since we are all so very beneath your vastly superior intellect? |
Also, Cena, easily. How is this even up for debate?
|
I remember back in 2005 everyone thought Batista was the shit.
|
I only liked him in the 3 minute squash matches he was in upon his return from being deacon batista. That's about as long as he can look good, without someone carrying him through the bulk of the match.
|
Danielson has the skillz to pay the billz.
|
I voted based on their performances in front of an ECW crowd.
|
Batista, by far. He brings the energy and the fire.
|
He has definitely walked some miles inside a pit of danger, but he's still pretty awful in the ring.
|
Cena delivers better matches on a consistent basis, than Batista ever did.

Cena is hands down, a better wrestler than Batista. This topic shouldn't even be up debate. |
