Spirit Squad over Team Angle? :/

Team Angle was around for barely over 3 months as opposed to Spirit Squad who were together for 6 months or so in WWE and even longer in OVW. And Spirit Squad were more of a true stable as opposed to Team Angle which was basically Angle and then WGTT being somewhat of an after thought... It's just an opinion though, but that's why one was ranked over the other

Lock Jaw 10-12-2010 01:09 AM

I am shocked and appalled at the low ranking of the Latino World Order.

What Would Kevin Do? 10-12-2010 01:41 AM

Out of curiosity, why are the Un-Americans so low? Just lack of time being around?

Furious Beardsley 10-12-2010 01:45 AM

The J.O.B. Squad should be number 1 by far

THIS LIST IS FLAWED!!!

Pretty much. It also had to do that they were bad rehash of the Hart Foundation. Obviously many teams above them EV 2.0, Fourtune, Evolution, ect. are rehash gimmicks but those teams were (and are in some cases) more entertaining than the UnAmericans.

I also think it saying something when Christian was at his worst when he was and UnAmerican it was the only point in his career in which he didn't cut a decent promo.

Just to recap why they're so low....

Lack of longevity

Rehash gimmick

Doing the impossible (making Christian promos bad)

Didn't know of most of them I assume a lot of them are Japanese factions and I don't watch much (if any) japanese wrestling however...

Diamond Exchange (AWA): My bad.

Diamond Mine (WCW): Don't belong

nWo Japan: Weren't familiar enough to rank them.

Varsity Club: #35

Road Warriors: I meant to put them on the list honestly don't know what happened.

dronepool 10-12-2010 02:13 AM

Goddamn, I probably can't even name more than 10-20 stables:lol:

What Would Kevin Do? 10-12-2010 02:34 AM

Yeah, there are some great Japanese stables, but can't really fault someone for not knowing them. Blood Generation, Muscle Outlawz, Real Hazard, and World-1 to go along with some of the ones mentioned above.

Also, who the hell actually calls RO&D "Roughly Obsess & Destroy?"

What Would Kevin Do? 10-12-2010 02:37 AM

Anyway, I'm just happy AotF was included. In celebration, I will post this picture, because I love it.

I only know Blood Generation, Muscle Outlawz, and Real Hazard from from random tag matches I've seen, they're all quite good, but I don't know them as stables and doing stable antics.

What Would Kevin Do? 10-12-2010 02:42 AM

No worries. I'm not a puro elitist, so I won't hold it against you. ;)

The thing with Dragon Gate is they essentially mix up stables almost yearly. Instead of having a draft, they pretty much have stables shift once a year. Hard to know what's going on if ya don't pay attention.

Age of the Fall is one of my favorites but I prefer them with Necro and Lacey.

Yeah, Dragon Gate does mix up stables annually.

What Would Kevin Do? 10-12-2010 02:53 AM

As did I, but that picture looks cooler then the one with Lacey. ;)

On a totally unrelated note, watching Jimmy Jacob's Youtube videos for Dragon Gate USA are sort of interesting. If he's telling the truth, apparently he was an utter dick during the AotF time frame, drug addicted, essentially homeless, and a total prick to be around. It sheds some light on his sudden ROH departure.

He's better now apparently.

MoFo 10-12-2010 10:00 AM

Corporate Ministry is easily the worst stable of all time. It bored me off wrestling for the whole year.

Triple Naitch 10-12-2010 10:05 AM

Not enough love for the Jersey Triad.

Loose Cannon 10-12-2010 11:20 AM

wow, Dungeon of Doom @ 15. not going to get any grief over here because they are a personal fav of mine, but that's the lowest I've ever seen them.

Good list, Props for House of Humperdink, Legion of Doom, First Family (not sure if you knew of the original First Family), Dangerous Alliance and Varsity Club on there

there's a few more American Wrestling stables I would of added in there from the 80's.

Devestation Inc (UWF/WCCW)

Hot Stuff International (UWF)

J-Tex Corporation (big one missed. top 15 for sure. Crockett 1989. probably the best year they ever had)

Army of Darkness (Big stable in Florida. Led by Kevin Sullivan).

Stud Stable (Big stable in Continental and then WCW had thier version in 94.)

The Russians (Big stable in Crockett. 84-86 I believe. )

The Rat Pack (they were hot in Mid South wrestling in the early 80's. Dibiase, Matt Borne, Duggan, Mr Olympia.

The Machines (kind of a joke stable, but actually were over. They battled the Heenan Family in WWF.)

edyhdrawde 10-12-2010 11:53 AM

What about the Freebirds? Since you have House of Humperdink, why not the Piper's Palace?

I didn't know that, the last I saw Jimmy Jacobs was his cage match with Tyler Black at Violent Tendencies.

Jacobs is such a talented worker. Unlike most indy guys his talent has most to do with his character development and mic skills. During Age of the Fall he easily became one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I hope he comes back to ROH because he's such a unique indy talent. Anyone got a suggestion of any good matches of his post ROH run?

Thanks for clearing that up. Somebody may not have believed WWKD's quite in-depth post but this goldmine of info sorts that right out.

Explains a lot about his 'reputation' as well, more than one guy has talked about how he was a complete dick and it was during the Age of the Fall stuff that he was over here.

Anybody Thrilla 10-12-2010 03:10 PM

I see that The Union isn't even on the list, and that's probably a good call.

Anybody Thrilla 10-12-2010 03:11 PM

I probably would have put JBL's Cabinet somewhere in there, though.

Anybody Thrilla 10-12-2010 03:11 PM

And The Dead Pool. :shifty:

MoonlightDrifter 10-12-2010 04:10 PM

Good list. The only real problem is the Hart Foundation not being number one, and The Four Horsemen being so high. They\'re easily behind the NWO and arguably DX.

DLVH84 10-12-2010 04:12 PM

Nation Of Domination (USWA)
The Gangstas (New Jack, Mustafa Saed, and D-Lo Brown)
Hotstuff International

The Jayman 10-12-2010 04:16 PM

no mention of La Resistance? oh well

Loose Cannon 10-12-2010 04:22 PM

it's top 100, not top 1000

That could have been anyone's cabinet. :shifty:

While you definitely put forth a good effort in your list, some of your selections and rankings are flat out stupid.

McMahon-Helmsley faction should be ranked in your top 6 or 7...especially if Ministry of Darkness ranks in at 6. WWE ratings were at its absolute highest in history during the early and mid part of 2000. In the absence of Austin, The Rock became the #1 face of the company....and his #1 opposition was the McMahon-Helmsley Faction.

What are you basing your rankings on? HOW are you basing your rankings? If you're basing on personal prefence and subjectivity, then that's fine....just say so. Otherwise, your rankings mean absolutely nothing without objective and tangible criteria...which ultimately means that you are talking out of your ass.

Loose Cannon 10-12-2010 06:04 PM

pretty sure it's his own personal preferance

Lui Kang 10-12-2010 06:07 PM

Having a personal preference is fine....nothing wrong with that. I just think its retarded if it lacks some logic. That is all. Having said that, his list wasn't TOO bad. I've seen far more irresponsible posts on here.

Anybody Thrilla 10-12-2010 06:13 PM

I don't think he was trying to get anyone to subscribe to his views. He was just sharing them. That's his 'thing'. Ask him about his Top 10 lists when you're done calling him an idiot. :y:

VSG 10-12-2010 06:17 PM

bWo deserves to be higher.
