I assumed it would lead to Barrett vs 'Taker at 'Mania...but who knows?

It led to a furthering of the "Undertaker is powerless"/"Kane stole his powers" saga.

I kind of though that they were going to make Nexus the reason why Taker was in the vegetative state. That would have been way to further the storyline and to get Smackdown more involved with it.
