Greg Jackson's camp = Cheaters?
 

Seems like this issue was just swept under the rug and we're led to believe that Marquardt and GSP are innocent. I don't know, I just finished reading BJ Penn's book and basically he seems genuinely honest about the whole issue.

I wish I could quote the book, but I don't have it on me at the moment but here's the jist of it:

When Sean Sherk lost to GSP, BJ overheard Sherk talking to his coaches saying "I couldn't grab a hold of him, his legs were covered in vaseline." BJ was thinking to himself "Shut the fuck up Sherk, quit crying, you just got your ass kicked". Later, BJ would soon sympathize for Sherk, as he would find out for himself a few months later with his match with GSP.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission saw for themselves that GSP was being covered with some sort of foreign substance, but nothing was really done about it.

I just find it more than a coincidence that two people from the same camp (GSP and Marquardt) were being accused of greasing. I understand that the UFC wants to protect GSP's squeaky clean image, so sweeping this issue under the rug seems like the logical thing to do.

Weather or not GSP cheated can be argued and debated, but the fact is the athletic commisions check fighters now, and are responsible for applying vasaline. So since Greasegate it's become pretty much impossible to grease.

Marquardt was checked for vasaline seconds after his win against Palhares and the ref said he was clean.

I saw a video about the GSP thing and there was a little something on the back of GSP but the ref or someone pointed it out and they cleaned it up before he went on.

I forgot where I heard this, but if you apply enough grease two weeks BEFORE the fight, it absorbs in your endermis. When you sweat, you become extra slippery. Seems like a lot of shit to go thru, and I don't even know if that shit is real...GSP is questionable, but Nate the Great is free and clear.

The NSAC saw what happened and wiped GSP. They put it on the cornerman so that's why GSP is left out of it.

Nah, that's bullshit. Sweat comes from glands beneath the skin, not from inside it. Even then, the skin doesn't absorb vaseline like that. You apply it, your skin gets slippery and mere hours later it's dry again. Plus, you shed your outer epidermis constantly, so even if your skin could absorb grease it'd have exfoliated long before fight time.

Sounded like bullshit when I heard it, somebody was trying to convince me that nate the great greased with some elaborate scheme...Or I dreamt it up while sleeping. One, or the other :roll:. It was funny seeing Phil Nurse backpedal and bullshit like that.

Problem is, I don't think BJ Should be quoting a guy who lost his title due to testing positive for Steroids when it comes to cheating...

Also, BJ Penn is a noted whiney bitch who talks loads of bullshit.
