Quick Smackdown! *SPOLIERS* Airing 22/10/2010

- Thanks to Moustafa Mohsin of ProWrestling.net for these WWE SmackDown! spoilers from this week’s TV tapings in Canada:

WWE SmackDown!:

* The show opens with Team RAW and Team SmackDown! in the ring. Teddy Long is going to let the teams pick the matches. Miz chooses he, Ezekiel Jackson and Sheamus vs. Big Show, Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston. Edge chose CM Punk, John Morrison chose Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger got Santino Marella.

* Big Show, Kofi and Mysterio beat The Miz, Sheamus and Zeke. Big Show chokeslammed Miz and Rey splashed him for the win.

* Jack Swagger beat Santino Marella. Hornswoggle came out and got into it with Swagger’s mascot. Santino attacked the eagle but Swagger won with the ankle lock.
* Alberto Del Rio beat John Morrison.

* LayCool came out and Layla was dressed like Natalya but with Jim Neidhart’s beard. Michelle McCool was dressed as Bret Hart. Next, Natalya and Kelly Kelly beat LayCool in tag team action. Natalya used the Sharpshooter.

* Randy Orton defeated Kane in a Champion vs. Champion match. Kane dominated most of the match. The ending was Kane going for a chokeslam, but the bell tolled and the lights went out. When the lights went on, there was no Undertaker, but Orton used the distraction to nail Kane with an RKO for the win.

After the match, Kane was freaking out outside and then the bell was heard again. Kane went back in the ring and Taker came out from the ring by making a hole through. Taker pulled Kane inside the hole. They got out brawled and Kane escaped. Taker posed and then threw the World Title belt in the hole in the ring where he came out of.

I know these are only ther brief results, but I'm not overly excited by the sound of the show. :-\

Jeritron 10-20-2010 04:22 AM

Then don't watch it?

Tazz Dan 10-20-2010 04:24 AM

I probably wont.

Jeritron 10-20-2010 04:28 AM

Sounds like a plan. I'll join you in your protest

Sixx 10-20-2010 04:39 AM

So they're making Orton look weak now or what?

The person who ends up losing almost always dominates for most of the match. Especially when it's a heel. PROTIP

Sixx 10-20-2010 05:12 AM

Yeah, but not only he got dominated, he also needed a distraction to get the win?

Quit being a smartass, Jeritron.

Juan 10-20-2010 05:31 AM

Kane needs the rub

Rammsteinmad 10-20-2010 05:32 AM

So uh, who won between Edge and Punk?

Fignuts 10-20-2010 06:16 AM

It's Kane. He is supposed to dominate against smaller guys.

Orton doesn't lose anything through this.

Corporate CockSnogger 10-20-2010 06:35 AM

Wouldn't it have made sense for them to give Tyler Reks a match here, y'know so people have a slight idea who he is?

He's facing the other world champion. There is no way either one of them was winning clean.
This is pretty standard booking to make them both look good.

Londoner 10-20-2010 08:27 AM

Wow what a poor show it seems leading up to a ppv.

Furious Beardsley 10-20-2010 09:47 AM

It does seem like a pretty poor show, but in depth spoilers may reveal something that would make it seem better. But then again it is WWE, and as much as I enjoy watching, it just seems that they give up before some PPV's.

They can't have a show this weak going into bragging rights.

I think they should just abandon this PPV and make the Team Raw vs. Team Smackown! match at Survivor Series next month. Because we will see almost this exact same thing again, only there will be 2 of these matches, one for Raw and one for Smackdown. It just seems redundant to have this "same" PPV for 2 months in a row. They should move Bragging Rights to another time of year or have a larger build to Survivor Series and remove the PPV entirely.

Honestly the only matches I really want to see are the buried alive match, Bryan vs. Ziggler, and to a lesser extent Barret and Orton (even though I kind of like how this storyline with Cena is going, it'll be interesting if they choose to put the strap on Barrett with help of interference from Cena)

Evil Vito 10-20-2010 09:54 AM

So Team SmackDown clears Team Raw out of its own ring to start Raw...they win the battle royal...and they win every match on SmackDown.

They are making it really obvious that Raw is winning on Sunday.

He wouldn't have an opponent because R-Truth isn't allowed in Canada.

From PWInsider
Edge took on Punk. Edge was about to win when Team Raw ran in. Team Smackdown followed and made the save. Edge finally speared Punk and Team Smackdown stood tall.
This was just before the main event, Team Raw look piss weak heading into the PPV.

Would have liked to see a follow up on the Kaval / Tyler Reks situation also, even if it was just a backstage segment with Reks refusing to put his spot on the line because only an idiot would do that or whatever.

MoFo 10-20-2010 11:47 AM

It doesn't even look that bad.

Smackdown winning every match is a little dumb though.

Yeah like the others said, its Champion V. Champion they can't have a clean finish for either one.

Plus he was facing the World Champion of SmackDown, on Smackdown... what would that have meant if Orton dominated Kane the whole time? It would just accent the fact that SmackDown is the second tier program even more.

Sixx 10-20-2010 01:34 PM

Ok, ok!

Droford 10-20-2010 01:51 PM

Smackdown needs the rub

The Naitch 10-20-2010 07:37 PM

So if Kane jobs out on SD! does that mean he'll be winning at Bragging Rights?

(According to WWE logic)

MoFo 10-20-2010 07:47 PM

Probably setting up another of those Taker 'return' angles at the Rumble or some shit.

Aguakate 10-20-2010 09:43 PM

Alberto Del Rio beat John Morrison. That's what I'm talking about.

"Edge fought C.M. Punk to a no-contest. The crowd was hot for Edge the whole time. As he was about to spear Punk, Team Raw interfered and then Team Smackdown came out for the save. It ended up with everyone hitting their finishers on someone else. Edge was the last one, and he speared Punk and then posed with Team Smackdown."

I wanted to know too, so found this on another site.

Somebody else from Team Smackdown could have not had a match and Reks takes their place.

Volare 10-21-2010 05:55 PM

I got a feeling Reks is getting kicked off on Sunday.

Definitely. Vintage WWE booking.

I'm okay with it though. Hopefully The Miz will be among the last guys for team RAW, if not the sole survivor, further evolving his push toward an eventual World Title win.

You just wasted moments of precious life to express your vague disinterest in something. How pathetic does that feel?

Why not let him cash in the same night AND be the sole survivor, that would give him something to brag (pun intended) about.

About as pathetic as your attempt to flame me for doing it?

Fignuts 10-22-2010 04:27 AM

ooooooooo

SNIP SNAP

Brigstocke 10-22-2010 05:35 AM

This PPV will serve as the beginning of HUGE MIZ PUSH PHASE 2!! He will win the Bragging Rights match by interference or distraction after being left 3-1. He will then win The Raw Survivor Series match in the same way, Against a face team led by Cena.

No reason to rush him winning the title. Hes actually been built up slow, which is uncommon in the WWE.
