What if TNA didn't exist?
 

When you think about it, TNA is very important to the industry just because it gives guys another place to make decent money on a national scale.

Without TNA, what do you think the industry would look like? Would another promotion have stepped (or started) up? Would currently former WWE wrestlers in TNA still be with WWE? What about some of TNA's bigger stars? Guys like Sting, AJ, Joe, the Machine Guns. Would they have had a place in WWE?

And what about WWE? Would WWE be any different in other ways?

WWE wouldn't be any different because they have always gone about their business acting as if TNA doesn't exist.

Jeff Hardy would be in prison.

Jeff Jarrett wouldn't have a career.

Without TNA its possible WWE would become to lazy with no competition, ok TNA aren't on the same level yet as WWE but if the WWE thought fuck it and put out a piss poor show TNA right now would be hot on their heels, all competition is good competition. Plus with the WWE's vast roster could you only imagine if the TNA talent joined them, you thought there was jobbers in the WWE now, i could only imagine the waste of having AJ and MCMG's job every week.

Pretty much everyone in TNA would be on the Indy circuit or retired..... There might be a few exceptions that WWE might consider bringing in though (Styles, Roode, Morgan)

I agree. When ECW shut down in January 2001 and WCW shut down two months later, WWE got really lazy, because they had no competition to keep themselves motivated. If TNA never existed, WWE would continue to be lazy and lacking the motivation they had when competing with WCW and ECW.

Very little would change. WWE's still "complacent," and the fact that TNA can't provide proper competition probably does more to reaffirm it than to convince them they need to get off their asses. Without real competition, they are beholden primarily to their stockholders, not to any real sense of improvement.

TNA might be helping WWE in a sense. TNA's talent pool further limits another party from stepping forth and doing it right. That doesn't mean it would happen, just that it might.

If TNA did not exist...well for one thing I probably would have lost all interest in wrestling to begin with. The only reason I have a little fight left in me is simply because there are two separate companies with televised shows. Sting would have remained retired for sure. Definately another promotion would have attempted a similar path, probably ROH.

It would not be that different at all. Most of the TNA guys would be working the indies, and maybe ROH would be a little better off for not losing talent.

Honestly, TNA has not had a real 'impact' on the wrestling world, like say ECW had in the 90s.

It would have no effect because some other organization would be formed/step up to become the "competition".

What happened to that other big one that was supposedly in the works? Is that still happening?

If TNA didn't exist, Samoa Joe probably would have accepted the role as Umaga.

Sting would definately have a WWE backed DVD, and all the WCW based DVDs would be a little better.

Ring of Honor would probably be a bigger company.

ROH would be the number 2 promotion or WWA if they made money.

Those two would be great alternatives, although WWA tried to tour the world, as evident with shows held in U.S., Europe, and Australia.
