Tell me now if this is destined to get cancelled after the first series. Don't know how far through it is in the US but we got the first two episodes last week and I'm not going to bother if the network executives notice that I am watching it and therfore cancel the series like Flash Forward.

I like it better than FlashForward or V. That should be enough for you.

I'm sure it will be canceled. There is too much paying attention and remembering previous events for an American audience to bother with.

It isn't written nearly as well as Lost. There isn't really any good reason to compare it to Lost, but it is inevitable as all shows of this nature will be. But it is primarily focused on action and the twists and there isn't nearly as much character.

I could never get into Lost because it just seemed too ridiculous. Flash Forward and The Event have just been easier for me to get past the plot (might sound daft but I couldn't get past them being marooned on the island in Lost) of it all and enjoy the programme. I don't know maybe I'll give Lost another chance one day.

NBC is relentless in their quest to convince everyone it's the new Lost. The advertisements are now using the tagline "If Lost and 24 had a baby...it would be The Event."
I wonder how long TV shows will try to tap into the Lost fanbase before they realize they will more likely gravitate towards another original show.

It's been picked up for a full season so we shall see. Each episode improves upon the last I've felt.

Anyone trying to compare this to LOST in the first place is having a fucking laugh.

Friday night viewing is the Mentalist. I can't say I'm bothered about checking this show out.

Looks really really boring.

really love this show. started out pretty slow and almost stopped after the 2nd episode, but it's really picked up since then. They've been delivering on the action and have had some nice twists along the way.

But.... I can easily see it losing steam into season 2

and Flash Foward was horrible, never could get into it. This is a lot better imo

I can understand why people might not like Flash forward, I felt the same about Lost.

of course the 3rd episode is tonight and I'm stuck at work. I missed the entire last series of The Mentalist :(

hmm I stopped after the 2nd episode. Maybe i should check out the rest. They're all on Ondemand.

I watched the first two episodes last week but wasn't overly impressed. I might on demand catch up while I'm in the States, or I may not bother. It just didn't really wow me much either way.

Yeah, it's not really a must-watch every week. It's a more resigned "Well, I'm not doing much, I guess I could see what's happening on The Event" type show.

I've missed this the past few weeks since it started airing here but just catching up tonight. Looks ok so far. They seem to have covered a lot of ground in the first 2.5 episodes, with some "big reveals" already out of the bag.

I wasn't doing much so I watched it tonight.

Yeah, I was half-watching that same episode when I was also on the net. Had to come back to it and give it full attention as I was getting real confused.
