Xbox 360 Probs
 

Okay, I don't have any more time to mess with google. My 360 is freezing up on me. It has happened while booting up before the 360 logo comes up, and in gameplay. I don't have any red lights. My system seems to be ventilated, along with the big ass power brick. Any words of wisdom?

Probably gonna RROD soon. Don't know what you could do to fix it, unfortunately.

If it's in warranty, send it back.

If it's not, overheat it so you get the red ring, and send it back.

That 360 will die soon.

Unfortunately, all of the above are likely. That's what mine was doing randomly before it RROD'd. Then I put in SVR 08 and there she went. Sent it back and had a brand new 360 sent to me about 4 weeks later.

You can blame me if you'd like.

Got a message from microsoft this morning saying they were having some issues with live and other things. It could be that.

They should send out an update that forces an RROD on consoles as a Halloween prank.

That'd scare the shit out of everyone.

Try it with the network cable unplugged then, could be spazzing about a Live issue.

Turn it on without a disc in it and then put it in.

Mine did what yours did just after I got it, hasn't since though.

Big thanks to everyone's advice. I have a haunted house to go to tonight, and dinner in the oven, and beer to drink, but when I get a chance I'll try stuff out.

Given it's not completely rooted, I'd try the towel trick on it. Might get you a few more months.

Wait until tomorrow to see if it was related to the new dashboard arriving November 1st and if its still giving problems, call up Microsoft to get it repaired.

If your in the dashboard beta, there has been a lot of issues with the updates and crashing/freezing of Xboxes but majority were only temporary issues.

Red ring of death happened today... not too stoked since I wanted to play SmackDown vs Raw tonight...... Really not stoked...

HOWEVER- The warranty still had 12 days on it. Amber called me at work to break the news about the red ring of death, and I asked her to call up Microsoft. Shipped it out today, should get it back in 2-3 weeks, or years. Not sure which one... Might be the first and feel like the second.
