Mordecai
Saw the Promo tonight on smackdown. Looks like hes gonna be a part of Judgement Day, and it looks like he'd fit in well with a new ministry or some kind of angle with the Taker.
Anyways, looks cool. Discuss. |
Yeah, I love characters like his. Evil cult like guys who have a religious theme associated with them. I think he is going to feud with Taker though. But on last weeks promo, he spoke about a "father," so there should be another person involved here. But I am definately liking these promos right now.
Here me.....Fear Me |
I missed last weeks promo, but that sounds even more promising. The idea of a new ministry gives some hope to the struggling smackdown. I also like the visible possibilities of an ecw stable.
Could be interesting... |
Oh I can't wait till Judgement Day. This Mordecai character definitly sounds like he's going to be doing something with Ministery. Which will make me mark out definitly.
|
Well I was just checking out the smackdown roster, and its hard to think of people who would fit in with the ministry.
But on the other hand, it wouldn't have looked like Bradshaw, Farooq, Phineas Godwin and Mable would make good members of the ministry back in late 98/early 99 and they did. Maybe Matt Morgan, Sean O'Haire would have been good, and theres that lingering rumor of Mideon coming back. I say have Mordecai allign with taker for the ministry, a fued would probably just result in Mordecai getting buried or could just not work. |
A NEW Ministry would be kickass...
but what if they fuse Heyman's obviously new "ECW Stable" with the new ministry (if they do it). I liked the corporate ministry alot too bad they did not use it the way they could have... Imagine it The Ministry Of EXTREME. A Evil Paul Heyman (oxymoron?) and Paul Bearer yelping into the mic would be awesome. Maybe they can hire back the Vampire Warrior (Gangrel). I saw him on a MXPW show a few weeks ago and he still looks decent (chubby head now though)... And the "Father" is actually revealed to be... wait for it guys... JOANIE LAURER |
It should be like this:
Judgement Day Booker T Vs The Undertaker The winner: Booker T because Mordecai will interfeere and hit The Undertaker, so thats when Booker T gets his Title shot and the Undertaker fights with Mordecai, Vengeance Mordecai Vs The Undertaker and Booker T Vs Eddie Guerrero, Mordecai wins at Vengeance with help of someone thats when he makes his stable, and The Undertaker makes his stable too and they fight at Survivor Series so is White Mynistry because Mordecai has his hair white and his cape and everything Vs The Black Mynistry because the Underaker wears all black and thats when The Undertaker wins the 5 on 5 match, then Mordecai could fight with John Cena and The Undertaker can win the Royal Rumble for the first time. |
Haha
Seriously though, the ministry would be really cool, but I wouldn't want it merging with an ecw stable. It'd be cool for them to both be active at the same time, and both be trying to gain ground on smackdown, maybe even fueding, while Smackdown is caught in the middle of it. |
Michael Cole wouldn't even have to nut during the commercial breraks with 3 stables fueding to "take-over" SmackDown!
Or if the gods above answer our prayers: SmackDown! presents the return of: WAR GAMES! |
Yeah I said that Booker T should beat Taker at Judgment Day due to Mordecai in another post.
BTW, I'm pretty sure Vengeance will be a RAW PPV this year. The PPV calender shows that Vengeance is 2 weeks after the Great American Bash (SD PPV in June), so I think they have switched and given RAW Vengeance. In terms of a stable, I think we all know Mideon is coming back, so he would fit in a stable. If this Mordecai cat has another person coming with him (his father or whatever) then they would just need one more guy to fill out the stable, maybe Big John could get a makeover. I dont think Taker should form a stable however. I think they need Taker fighting the odds, because of his gimmick (Mr No Sell) it doesn't make sense for him to need a stable to fight off a group of heels. |
Who is this Mordecai...is it that Waterman dude?
|
Mordecai is Seven from OVW. Ron Waterman hasn't been with the WWE for around 2 years.
|
LOL
Mordecai will play the heel claiming justice, probably, similar to D-Von as a preacher. He'll probably feud with Taker after costing him the match at Judgement Day, just as JV called it (and probably a lot of other people). Booker should feud with Eddie after Bradshaw gets killed, while Cena should continue his feud with Renee. |
I'm pretty sure when he said father he said "THE Father" implying God. I'd actually prefer it wasn't a person, but instead he's a lunatic thinking God is actually commanding him.
|
If he gets over quickly as the religious fanatic, he could recruit members like a cult...and have Undertaker stay solo.
An Undertaker/Mordecai would probably be a squash based on the way UT has been built up. But Undertaker/Mordecai & his followers could be more even and it would be believable. |
Hmmm... could it be "The Father" = Undertaker's "The Higher Power" = Vince McMahon?
Possibly. Worse case scenario: it's the Godfather. |
I would rather see the new "Luther Rains" character be Kenny Bolin from OVW. The guys one great manager. Maybe even Jeromy Crony? Both guys are greta managers, IMO. I will be seriously confused if it turns out Synn is the "father" (assuming he's not referring to God, in a religious sense).

In the Bible, Mordecai is the uncle of Queen Esther (a Jewish queen of the Persians). He is considered a Jewish hero because of his role in stopping a Jewish genocide instigated by Haman, a top Persian official. The event is celebrated every year at Purim, the Jewish equivalent of Mardi Gras.
Needless to say, I don't think the WWE Mordecai has anything to with the biblical Mordecai. I think they just chose the name because it sounds all evil and threatening. ;) |
I thought "Mordecai" sounded like a biblical name, and I hate to be one to disagree with El Santo, but to me it definitely sounds like he's going to have a religiously based gimmick of some sort, à la "Reverend D-Von", which really went well, IMHO, at least for a while and then everyone just wanted him to re-form the Dudley Boyz, which, obviously, they did, and one other reason it really went well was not a benefit for D-Von, but, ironically, the former "Deacon Batista" (when he was w/ "Rev. D-Von")/"Dave Batista" (which is his real life name, btw, just in case anyone wanted to know)/"Batista", because it really launched his career...the only problem is is that Evolution has not disbanded yet, which is a shame, because in my view, Orton and Batista were really great individual competitors. But anyway, I'll have a poll up shortly, and it doesn't really have anything to do with any of the superstars mentioned above, except Mordecai, so keep watching the boards for the poll ;) :y:

I think that, although the biblical character was good, the name itself sounds kinda evil. It brings to mind "mordid" or "Mordred" (from King Arthur) or "morte" (french for death). I remember seeing a supervillain in the "Legionnaires" comic book called Mordecai, too.

Who here watches OVW? How is he in the ring? He better not go John Heidenjausdfuilhgjasdhg on me. :nono:
|
I missed this guys debut and his promo last night but I have seen some pictures and I thought he looked an awful lot like Rhyno...
|
Even if he did go with Reverend D-Von or RTC type thing, it will be more serious and dark-ish, if you know what I mean.
I'm still just suspicious of a ministry angle, with his character coming to smackdown now, and with Judgment Day, and the deadman taker around and finally showing his face around Judgement Day. Plus theres been all these rumors stirring of a new ministry before this. |

Seven was ok in the ring in OVW although he didnt set the place alight but with the right gimmick he should be OK on the big stage

I think he'll be gone in about two months. WWE will just waste his talent.

Mordecai looks extremely promising.
But what I think WWE is goin to do is have Mordecai debut sometime in the ring talkin of "the Father." and we find that "the Father" to be none other than Taker and together they will create the Ministry so that Taker doesn't have to werestle so much and show up too much still. Cause Mordecai will be his second hand man. Either that or Mordecai's ministry vs. Taker's ministry cept there really isn't anybody on the SD! roster that could really fit into either of them. |

Maybe the Father references means Paul Bearer has another illegitimate son out there.
But, its probably to do with God. Get Kane to smackdown and have all 3 of them fueding with each other...all hate each other equally. That might be cool |
lol Mordecai (in the promo) kind of reminded me of Pai Mai from Kill Bill 2
