The pirate guy HBK mentions in his book

He talks about how he got confronted by the pirate guy backstage during his tenure in the WWF, and how The Kliq politiques in keeping the pirate guy down.

"the pirate has to go"

Who was this pirate dude

Probably Jean-Pierre LaFitte aka Carl Ouellet aka one half of the Quebecers

After the Quebecers broke up, Carl Ouellet was repackaged and pushed as a singles wrestler. Had a short feud with Bret Hart before disappearing again.

Yeah it was Lafitte, him and Nash had some 'big time heat' that lead to him getting the boot or something (Nash had the belt at the time). I remember seeing some variety of worked shoot maybe 2 years ago on some indy show in Canada between him and Nash playing the whole thing up for the $$$.

Nash & Lafitte wrestled in Quebec for the WWF Championship..... Lafitte refused to take the Jackknife and Nash took it out on him in the ring, resulting in the bad blood..... I can't remember all the details, but I do remember Nash talking about it in one of his shoot interviews.....

I was at the old Montreal Forum for Lafitte vs Diesel. I wasn't rooting for Lafitte.

It must have been shortly before The Forum was closed down and Les Canadiens moved to the Molson/Bell Center.....

Lafitte must have been psychic and saw a big showesque jacknife botch in his future.

Yup. Last wrestling show there.

The Quebecers got into a lot of locker room shit it seems.

Jacque had a ton of heat with Dynamite and his clique.

Kapoutman 11-09-2010 03:37 PM

Yeah, read in Hart's biography that he knocked out Dynamite's teeth with a roll of quarters because of some pranks Dynamite had been playing on the Rougeaus. Turns out it wasn't even him or something.

Most of Rougeau's students seem to think that Jacques is a dick. Ray is pretty cool though.

Yeah, and at the Survivor Series in 1988, the Rougeaus were eliminated early, so they can leave the arena right then and there. After the event, Davey Boy and Dynamite left for their old stomping grounds in Stampede Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling.
