I know this is the MMA forum and if this pisses anyone off I'm sorry and the mods can move it. I just figured the regulars of this forum would probably have more insight/ interest in this match.

Do you guys think Margarito can pull off the upset... without plaster in the gloves of course. Manny seems distracted...

Going up weight again, even at a catchweight just under light-middle is stupid of Pac, especially against a power puncher like Margarito.

Amazing how Pacquiao has put on 20kg since his debut at flyweight and is still stopping guys, hes a freak.

That's one of the things they point out. He continues to go up weight classes and carries his power with him. That doesn't usually happen like that. Are they doing Olympic style testing for this fight?

I don't see Pacman knocking out Margarito. And I actually believe that Margarito can pull out the upset.

He hasn't lost any of his speed or fitness which you might expect if he was on steroids. People do find it easier to get bigger as they get older. He's a phenomenal athlete and boxer.

I heard Margarito is looking amazing. Of course, how he manages to pull a license to fight this fight, out of his ass, is amazing in it's own right. But that's boxing. A joke sport with 2 to 4 fighters who anyone would be interested in.

Do you attribute his KO prowess to being a volume puncher? That could be a credible explanation.

steroids aren't a magic knockout power juice though. all it is is mass + speed + technique.

As Mask points out, I think it is his sheer technique and accuracy when he gets an opening. He never lets his opponent rest, he's like a version of Ricky Hatton except with supreme boxing skill. He threw something like 100 punches per round for 12 rounds in the Clottey fight. That's fucking incredible. I simply don't believe he would have the stamina to do that if he was juicing.

Margarito looked like shit v Mosley, a 38 yr old was quicker to the punch everytime. He must be worried about facing Pac whos like a billion times quicker than Mosley.

Mask, ECG...you make very valid, credible, and rep worthy points. I cannot dismiss Pac Man's skill. His style is smothering, so if he can out work his guys, I can see him being successful. I can see your viewpoints, and understand them sensibly.

It's crazy, this steroid era we live, and enjoy sports in right now.
