Anyone in the US have the tagged classics?

wondering if any of you in the US have a region free Bluray/DVD player and if you have the tagged classics DVD's? if so, which player do you have?

thinking about getting one. how is the quality of the tagged classic DVD's?

Don't know about my player, but I have one of the sets:

I liked it. Excellent quality. I would have more of them if I had any money to spare.

He's talking about the Silvervision Tagged Classics, which are PPVs from the 80s-2000s.

yea, that's a USA one. love that Backlash by the way. I really just want the King of the Ring's and In Your Houses that have not been released on DVD here

Not sure about players in the US but my region free player is a Sony one and is around 8 years old now, but never had any issues with it playing different regions dvds, so I'm sure the newer ones are fine.

I have virtually all the Silvervision Tagged Classics and the quality is excellent. They have been digitised/converted or something from the original tapes so if there are any issues with quality its because there is an issue with the original. I can only think of two ppv's where this happens, but its a very short blip and doesn't detract from the shows.

You can get any cheap old DVD player and as long as you find the region code/pass/key online, can change the region at will.

Also make sure your TV supports PAL.

I'd take the tagged classics anyday over the WWE re-released sets. Everything is untouched - including the music. Nothing worse than watching an old skool event and waiting for an awesome theme to come on, only to be replaced by some generic weird crap.

Loose Cannon 11-12-2010 10:36 AM

Yea, I know what you mean. Although the WWE has been fixing that lately I've noticed. Demolitions theme was not on the Mania anthology, but was on Rumble's

Like this for example -

There is nothing better than the epic Vince Rumble intros.

itsmeJD 11-13-2010 10:42 AM

Vince (using his "you're fired!" voice): IT'S THE ROOOYYYAAAALLLLLL RUMMMMMBBBBLLLLEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Epic.

Xero 11-13-2010 12:52 PM

Why the fuck would they change who did the intro? I can see redoing the logo and graphics to make it look cleaner, but there was no reason to change from Vince.

Loose Cannon 11-13-2010 11:37 PM

ugh, that's going to suck when I get the anthology

Love how they kept a cheesy early 90s track for it though :D
