Sheamus

What is the forum's general thoughts on the guy?

thedamndest 11-09-2010 05:26 PM

I'm more curious about your thoughts on him, geodude91.

I don't actually hate him that much. For your typical big guy power wrestler, he's isn't horrible. His last title reign was pretty weak I have to admit. As long as he doesn't get a leprechaun to hang around with, I think he'll do well

He is fantastic. His mic work is the quality of a seasoned WWE main eventer, and his in ring skills are not lacking either. He is totally comparable in every way to Triple H, which is not a bad thing.

I feel like with the spotlight on Barrett, Sheamus has has more freedom to be himself and man is it working. This little program with Santino and Morrison is off the charts. I am hoping to see team Sheamus (I don't know who fits the bill for his partners) vs Team Santino (Santino, Kozlov, Morrison and ???) at Survivor Series.

It could be interesting if Harry Smith was put against TJ Wilson on different teams at SS.

Loose Cannon 11-09-2010 06:18 PM

yea, he's good. He's just ran into the Wade Barrett train so he's kind of lost right now.

Brigstocke 11-09-2010 06:31 PM

He's top 3 of the interesting talents list on Raw right now.

MIZ
Barrett
Sheamus

Yea I agree with this completely. It's been a while since there has been any new blood that I can really get behind, but now all 3 of these guys are full of potential and hopefully on their way to the top. Bryan too.
It's exciting to watch Raw weekly now because of them.

Along with Punk and Daniel Bryan, they're probably my favorites in the business right now overall. I also felt like Morrison had kind of lost momentum and been drifting in limbo for the past year or so, but he seems to be picking up steam again as well. I think he might finally get over the hump in 2011.

I forgot about Del Rio and Ziggler over on Smackdown too. Youth movement FTW.

Jordan 11-09-2010 07:56 PM

Sheamus, Miz, Barrett, Del Rio, Ziggler, Bryan, Punk, all have more than what it takes to lead WWE into the next generation.

That group reminds me of the era of Jericho/Benoit/Eddie/Rey/Edge/Angle ... or even back another generation to DX/Austin/Rock

Joesgonnakillyou 11-09-2010 08:39 PM

I used to hate him, When he first appeared on RAW he was awkward as hell and I was sure he was going to end up in a comedy tag team with Finlay.

but I was wrong, he's great, a real all rounder. His match with Orton at HIAC was great as well.

I'd add Swagger to Jordan X's list btw.

Tazz Dan 11-09-2010 09:23 PM

I wonder what Kevin Nash's thoughts are on the situation.

Triple Naitch 11-09-2010 09:38 PM

Love him. He is the #1 beast heel for WWE in the foreseeable suture.

SOCCER LEGS 11-09-2010 09:43 PM

i didn't like him until they started using him in bits with santino, those are hilarious

Sixx 11-09-2010 09:51 PM

I don't him.

XL 11-09-2010 09:51 PM

I thought they moved him to Raw too quickly, then I tought thry put the title on him too quickly. Now I think I was right, but the guy has grown on me a helluva lot. His progress is the reason I don't want HHH back anytime soon - as he's bound to job to him.

If he is struggling right now, his moving to Raw or winning the title too soon really have nothing to do with it.
It's because his title reign was booked secondary to other programs, which is never good.

XL 11-09-2010 10:12 PM

I didn't say/allude to there being a link. Nor do I think he is "struggling". Like has been said, he's just been rotated out of the Main Event scene to make way for the Nexus/Cena storyline.

Have you?

XL 11-09-2010 10:21 PM

Yeah. Noodle arms is pushing it. The guy's arms are huge compared to 99% of the population.

Mr Amazing 11-10-2010 12:11 AM

the storyline with triple h put him on the map ,i would like to see him become the top guy on smackdown after the draft

James Steele 11-10-2010 12:29 AM

A) He is not comparable to Triple H at all.
B) Triple H needs to come back ASAP.
C) Sheamus is entertaining.

Brigstocke 11-10-2010 03:31 AM

Mr Steele, would you go as far as to say that Sheamus somewhere down the line is capable of 'carrying the industry on his huge and entertaining back'?

No. Also, I believe I said Triple H had a "massive and entertaining back".

Brigstocke 11-10-2010 06:13 AM

Oh, sorry about that.

Triple H, being the true Champion of the People that he is, won his first WWF World Heavyweight Championship on the August 23, 1999 edition of RAW in a classic matchup against fellow People's Champion and RAW IS WAR World Title winner...Mankind (Mick Foley).

Massive and entertaining back.

Dunno, James. This sounds as if you'd like to ride it.

It is quite OK. I implore you to delve into the alleged "Reign of Terror" of Triple H from 2002-2003 and tell me that there is not tremendous work going on. I will admit I hated the Steiner shit, but Triple H did with the roided up piece of shit what he could. Please, relive that tremendous era with clear eyes and a full heart.

XL 11-10-2010 01:00 PM

Steiner was the least of concern during the so-called "Reign of Terror". Think about guys like RVD, Booker T and Kane who were all really "hot property" back then. Each had that heat dampened in losing efforts to HHH.

H had the chance to create 3 HUGE stars there and he (or Vince) chose not to.

RVD openly blasted the company and deserved to get buried (he proves this when WWE gave him the biggest push anybody could ask for).

Booker T. probably should have won at WrestleMania XIX, but I think people overshoot on how over he was.

Kane didn't need the title and that whole angle was ridiculous (and hilarious).

Aguakate 11-10-2010 01:41 PM

I like the fella.

When he first got pushed and became Champion, I hated the idea, but now, I like him. So WWE once again is right and us, the fans, wrong.

He seems like a guy who if they gave him a little bit more freedom at the mic, and if they let him tailor his gimmick, his character, more to his liking, could really take off. He's really funny.
