I am so nervous (UFC 123)..

God, I hope Rampage beats the fuck outta Machida..

To win Jackson needs to:

-keep the fight at close to mid range.. He has to close the distance and not let Machida set up long range and pepper him..

-he needs to used his size, strength, and wrestling to keep Machida on his back.. He kept Hendo on his back, he should keep the Karate Kid down there as well..

-check motherfucking leg kicks!!

I haven't been this nervous for a ficht since Rampage/Liddell in the UFC..

Reavant 11-14-2010 11:54 AM

dont use wrestling performance against hendo as setting any bar in terms of wrestling skill. He was a tough grecco wrestler, but he lacks a lot of fundamental wrestling skills that guys who are not anywhere near accomplished as he is in the wrestling world would be able to dominate him.

I had never seen anyone put Hendo on his back and keep him there until Rampage..

The Mask 11-14-2010 05:08 PM

i hope rampage wins but i will be absolutely amazed if he does.

Jura 11-14-2010 05:20 PM

It's actually UFC 123 since UFC 122 was Saturday.

I like both fighters but Rampage hasn't shown me the fighter spirit for a very long time. If I see the Rampage from the Forest Griffin and Rashad Evans fight then Machida will win for sure. I'd like to see Machida be a little more aggressive.

Kris P Lettus 11-14-2010 05:26 PM

Rampage didn't look bad in the Griffin fight.. I could have actually seen that fight going his way, just like the first time Shogun and Machida fought.. The Rashad fight is the only "bad" fight Rampage has had since he fought Shogun in 2005..

IC Champion 11-14-2010 05:33 PM

I like Rampage, but he is inconsistent. He is one dimentional, and refuses to work on or use his wrestling. He's just concerned with standing and banging.

Kris P Lettus 11-14-2010 05:37 PM

How is having 1 bad performance is 5 years "inconsistent"??

Jura 11-14-2010 05:44 PM

I didn't say he looked bad. He didn't look bad but he could have been more aggressive and knock Griffin out or get him down and pound his face in. People say he's a good wrestler so why doesn't he grapple? Would have been very helpful against Rashad since he really doesn't do well when he's scrambling.

Well his fight against Jardine wasn't very impressive, when you consider Jardine couldn't win to save his life after that. And he didn't look good against Forrest. And when you say 5 years it seems like more than it is. He's only fought 3 times since december 08. So I'm sure his lack of consistant training has played its part as well.

Loose Cannon 11-14-2010 09:41 PM

love Machida, but I also love Rampage. I think Machida wins though.

The Naitch 11-14-2010 10:45 PM

remember Rogan was jizzing his pants proclaiming the Machida Era? WELCOME TO THE MACHIDA ERA!!!!!! That era lasted 2 fights

Funky Fly 11-14-2010 10:50 PM

tbh, it's not like just anyone in the LH division can kick his ass. He went 14-0 for a reason.

It shouldn't have lasted a single fight..

I will say now that machida won't ko rampage..

Funky Fly 11-14-2010 11:21 PM

Doubt he'll ko him, but i do see him winning.

nogiera brothers?

Next Big Thing 11-15-2010 08:12 AM

What is this Dolce Diet Rampage is supposed to be on? Is it like the newest fad in MMA dieting?

I think Rampage losing to Rashad touched his ego and pride enough to where he'll be fully focused on putting away Machida.

I'm more nervous for BJ's fight. Can't underestimate Hughes at all.

Kris P Lettus 11-15-2010 10:56 AM

If BJ loses he is prolly done which is sad considering he was the best lw in the world like 18 months ago..

More like 8 months ago.

Kris P Lettus 11-15-2010 11:35 AM

Couldn't remember how long ago the first Edgar fight was and didnt feel like looking it up..

IC Champion 11-15-2010 02:29 PM

Apparently Penn is making excused already is he loses, he says he will only be coming in at about 165, and will be much smaller than Hughes.

Kris P Lettus 11-15-2010 03:16 PM

He said that during the rogan interview but he said he feels good at that weight and putting on even more weight would slow him down..

Funky Fly 11-15-2010 03:23 PM

5 pounds under weight is not bad. Hughes might actually be like 180 come fight time, but it's not like some of the differences at Heavyweight.

IC Champion 11-15-2010 03:26 PM

20 pound weight difference at welterweight can be quite significant. Hughes has to be atleast 185 on the day of the fight.

Funky Fly 11-16-2010 01:16 AM

I don't doubt it, but why move to welterweight if he can't hack it? It really does come off as making an early excuse.

Nark Order 11-16-2010 12:38 PM

I'm ready for Machida to be a flash in the pan and slowly fade into obscurity. I don't like him.

I kinda agree. He's pretty boring to watch, and has zero personality.

Kris P Lettus 11-16-2010 02:10 PM

And his piece of shit manager improvs when he is supposed to be translating..

Jura 11-16-2010 02:30 PM

I hope the Machida era makes a comeback and extends forever.

He has 14 legit wins, with the last 2 being spectacular KOs. That's not a flash in the pan.

MoFo 11-17-2010 11:27 AM

Saw an recent interview where Page said he doesnt give a shit if he wins or loses, he just wants to put on a exciting fight.

his last win was the rua robbery :'(

Kris P Lettus 11-17-2010 02:48 PM

Yep.. He has beaten some names (Penn, Franklin, Rashad, etc) but has had some bad showings.. The Rua and Ortiz fights come to mind.. He is not unstoppable and Shogun showed that twice..

IC Champion 11-17-2010 03:18 PM

I always found Machida was overhyped. Not that is isn't a top 15 fighter in the world, but that he was ever unstoppable was ridiculous.

Jura 11-17-2010 05:52 PM

Everybody who has an undefeated record or is on a rampage like Brock will always be hyped like they are unstoppable. They pretty much have to for business.

Break down what I said. The 14 legit wins. Not counting the last one as it was bullshit.

He worked Ortiz badly. Not only did he stuff a huge takedown at one point, he completely reversed it. He combo'd him up and down all fight long. He crumpled Tito with a vicious kick to the liver in the third. Would have submitted him too if not for the second round ending before Ortiz tapped. That was domination.

I'm not calling him unstoppable, just really fucking good. He's had boring fights, but not really bad ones until he met Shogun.

Johnny McNasty 11-18-2010 03:50 AM

Never really thought the first Rua vs Machida fight was that big of a robbery. Always seen it as a close fight, that could've went both ways. Not sure at all who will win between Machida vs Rampage, but I think it will be a good fight.

Sixx 11-18-2010 05:01 AM

Chill out, it's not like you're fighting.

I'm not saying he isn't legit. He annoys the fuck out of me though and so do his fans. I'd like to see him have a huge breakdown and lose every fight for the next couple of years so everyone would shut the fuck up about him.
