An idea I had for Kaval
 

It'd be interesting to see what people think of this. It's a crazy Noid idea, but with the WWE wanting to create new stars, pushing the guy who won NXT 2 isn't such a bad idea, is it?

Basically, Kaval wins the IC Title from Dolph Ziggler in the near future. This can happen at Survivor Series or TLC. The guy is still the same character he is now, and gets the happy-go-lucky face moment celebrating with his first singles title in the WWE.

Meanwhile, Edge manages to defeat Kane at Survivor Series to win the World Heavyweight Title. This is Edge's tenth World Title in the WWE, so it's pretty special for him, too. To protect Kane's new monster image, Edge can get the win when the lights go out, a gong sounds, and a message on the titantron appears "I will be back." This freaks Kane out long enough for Edge to get him with a Spear and capture the title.

Now we come to TLC, where either Kaval's moment happens, or he defends his newly won IC Title against Ziggler in a rematch. Kane is also defending the World Heavyweight Title against Edge in a TLC Match (Edge's specialty, but they remind us that Kane has been successful in Ladder Matches, too). Kaval wins/retains the IC Title, and Edge manages to defend the World Heavyweight Title in a gruelling bout against The Devil's Favourite Demon.

Edge is celebrating in the main event with the big gold belt when...

The World Warrior makes his way down to the ring, as Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler & Matt Striker speculate about what might be going on. Kaval gets on the mic and says that he respects that Edge has been through a hectic battle against Kane, but he's got a PPV title shot to use whenever he wants. And he wants to use it against Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship...now.

The match is announced, and Kaval gets his signature kicks and flippy stuff against Edge. A Warrior's Way finishes Edge, and Kaval is both the Intercontinental Champion and World Heavyweight Champion! Michael Cole can be calling Kaval a coward or something at ringside, while Striker can be more on the side of Kaval being clever. King can reserve judgment.

SmackDown! comes along, and Kaval opens the show, wearing a slick suit with designer sunnies, and LayCool coming to the ring with him. Kaval cuts a promo about how despite being the top dog on the independent scene, all he ever heard is how he could never "make it" in the WWE. But now he is both the Intercontinental Champion and World Heavyweight Champion; he has two of the hottest Divas in WWE history, and he's got a nice bank account and can say that he's the man.

Edge interrupts and says that he knows what people expect him to say. They expect him to whine about how he had the World Heavyweight Title stolen from him. But he's not going to do that. He's going to commend Kaval, because he would have done the exact same thing himself. His first World Title actually came about in a similar fashion when he cashed in the original Money in the Bank briefcase against John Cena after an Elimination Chamber match. He's no angel, and he's not going to chastise Kaval for his ambition. But he does want a rematch.

Cue a match signed for the Royal Rumble: Kaval vs. Edge - First Fall for the Intercontinental Champion; Second Fall for the World Heavyweight Championship. Now, if Kaval wins the IC Title from Ziggler at TLC, you can have him want his rematch for the IC Title, and perhaps even add him to the Rumble match, as shades of Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho from WrestleMania XVI.

Basically, Kaval goes from being the plucky underdog babyface from being a more cocky, confident, suave bad-ass character. Not quite a heel, but a face with edges and things to prove. You can change his attire to reflect his status as a double-champion, too. Give him short trunks with the Intercontinental Title belt design on the back, and the World Heavyweight Title belt design on the front. Sort of Rick Rude-style.

One problem: Kaval is using his title shot @ Survivor Series...I think.

...they could just have him win the IC title, and then have him win the Rumble and challenge Edge, if he beats Kane...without so much drama.

Well, I was going to go into the spoilers, but this is why I posted this now. I would have preferred this. Mainly because I don't think it makes sense for Kaval to use his shot for anything other than a World Heavyweight Title match. Even if they had Theodore Long go to Kaval before his IC Title match and tell him that he's earned it, so he doesn't need to use his shot for it.

Don't think the nexus title shot works like mitb tbh. It's not an anywhere anytime challenge.

I thought his NXT title shot was already his IC Title shot, although they were never clear about it

fuck, there's no continuity in WWE. Nexus helps Kane beat Taker one night, the next week Kane is taking out the Nexus on SD!

I like the idea.... but he can only hold the WH Title until Royal Rumble.....

I personally feel that Kaval is a highly talented individual, but at the moment is seriously being misused by WWE (I can't even remember the last time he won a match). I think what Noid is suggesting would be interesting, but not in such a quick manner.

This may be a bit corny but I've always correlated the term "world warrior" with the Street Fighter series, and have hoped that that would be the direction they take with Kaval. Not to say that I'd want the man to start dressing like Ryu or anything like that, but his climb to the top should happen in a similar manner. A tough start, slowly gaining momentum as he issues and wins challenges against both midcard and upper level competitors until his goal is achieved. I'd actually prefer it if he forfeited his won title shot in favor of gaining the title in a more "noble" way.

In the long run, I think that most of us can agree that something more should be happening with Kavel.

How is he being seriously misused?

He's putting on great matches, with people much higher on the card than he is. He's taken Swagger (former world champ) McIntyre (Former IC champ) to the limits. Plus, he's getting over with the crowd. He just debuted technically, give them time. Using Kaval properly doesn't mean giving him a monster push where he crushes everyone. It means getting the crowd to like him, and wanting the crowd to see more of him.

Because he isnt feuding with Bryan Danielson or CM Punk for the World title of course.

Alright, maybe I misspoke in the beginning of my previous post.

I completely agree that Kaval doesn't need a monster push since it would conflict with his 'warrior way' mentality and that a good strong build is the way to go, but it wouldn't hurt his credibility to win a couple of matches rather than simply pushing his opponents to their limits.

Love the idea Noid... Too bad they never do cool shit like this much anymore...

He was misused because first he lost his spot on Bragging Rights, then the next week he was basically missing from the show. They never continued the momentum of that angle

He's like Danielson. Outside of the Indy smarks, nobody cares and nobody will care.

The only way I would say that Kaval is being misused, is that perhaps he isn't being presented the best he can be. I don't have a problem with Kaval being used in his current role (for a time -- there gets to be a point where he's not longer getting sympathy and "climbing the ranks," but rather going nowhere), as the matches are great, and there's a story of progression that will come of it.

But I can understand that people see certain strengths in Kaval that aren't being utilised or presented properly (for example, the guy has an undeniable charisma and intensity when he's playing a bad-ass). It just depends on whether or not you like seeing him utilised as a guy who can kick ass, or a guy you want to see battle back against the odds.
