Favourite Submission Move?

Easy thread - Whats your favourite submission move and why?

I have to go for the Haas of Pain - I've never seen it used before and Its about the only mainstream one that looks painfull.

*waits for the Crossface chants to start*

loopydate 04-23-2004 04:27 PM

Haas of Pain just looks brutal. That's my favorite.

Wondermouse 04-23-2004 04:31 PM

Haas of Pain looks brutal.

Always a fan of the STF - the F is for fashionable. Well, actually, it's for facelock, but sshh.

The figure four is great, but I prefer the inverted STF.

Love the Dragon Sleeper.

Cattle Mutilation (Bryan Danielson) looks pretty good, too.

I prefer the Edgecator to the Sharpshooter.

Ferocious 04-23-2004 04:33 PM

Edgecator = easy switch on an old fave but looks completely different

Bazooka 04-23-2004 04:37 PM

Sharpshooter takes the cake

Oxstar 04-23-2004 04:46 PM

mine has always been the figure 4 leg lock! Woooooooooooooooo!

also the sharpshooter does rule!

I also have my own submission move called the grammission! dont ask!

mitch_h 04-23-2004 04:51 PM

I  Samoa Joe's STF.

blake639raw 04-23-2004 04:58 PM

Figure 4

FFD 04-23-2004 05:28 PM

Crippler Crossface and STF.

Savio 04-23-2004 05:37 PM

The supmission hold I made up. Besides that then the Brock lock.

What Would Kevin Do? 04-23-2004 05:42 PM

Haas of Pain
or
Dragon Clutch ( Done by Low Ki, dragon sleeper/ camel clutch.. Looks brutal.

Shaggy 04-23-2004 05:43 PM

Ever since I became a wrestling fan I was a fan of the Sharpshooter. When I wrestle around with my friends I use that to win. Sharpshooter is just one of the greatest moves and I love the whole feel of it. You just know that they are screwed the minute they let you cross their legs and turn them over.

PureHatred 04-23-2004 05:51 PM

Bryan Danielson's Cattle Mutilation. Looks simple yet brutally painful.

John la Rock 04-23-2004 06:00 PM

Bret Hart's Sharpshooter and Chris Benoit's Crippler Cross Face are the all time best IMO

Funky Fly 04-23-2004 06:01 PM

Sharpshooter, bitches. I don't think I need to go into this one.

Other favourites include American Dragon's Cattle Mutilation, The Crippler Crossface, The Dragon Sleeper, The Dragon Clutch, The Liontamer, Lance Storm's Rolling Maple Leaf and The Texas Cloverleaf.

Wondermouse 04-23-2004 06:03 PM

Of course, the cloverleaf, my favorite move of all time (Malenko that shit down!). I always though the Cloverleaf and Liontamer should be combined. Call it the "Walls of the Alamo" or something. There's an Ozzy joke in there somewhere.

ilt_undertaker 04-23-2004 06:53 PM

The Haas of Pain and the Brock lock.

Stickman 04-23-2004 07:01 PM

I love the figure four and the Texas Cloverleaf. I haven't seen the Cloverleaf in ages and I really miss it. The sharpshooter is great but only with a Hart using it.

Wondermouse 04-23-2004 07:04 PM

Christian has used the Cloverleaf on the past two pay per views.

kuremadman 04-23-2004 08:54 PM

I've always been a fan of the Regal Stretch. It looks like it could mess you up if someone cranked back on it.

SeanMC 04-23-2004 09:08 PM

Sharpshooter, cloverleaf, Dragon sleeper(that looked brutal when i used to see HHH doing that move) and ofcourse..the crippler crossface.

ColdwaVer 04-23-2004 09:23 PM

Figure 4, definitely. I used to use that one on my brother all the time. Do you have any idea how realistically hard it is to get that thing on someone who doesn't want it applied?

Fox 04-23-2004 09:42 PM

Benoit's Crippler Crossface is a personal favorite.

Sting's Scorpion Deathlock always meant a mark-out moment for me.

But my all-time favorite submission move will probably always be the Torture Rack. Even if Lex Luger is a drugged up piece of shit these days, the Torture Rack was me and my two best friends' favorite wrestling move, and during the course of the school day we would surprise each other by putting each other into it. Good times...

James Steele 04-23-2004 10:16 PM

Sharpshooter (Bret,Owen, and Sting are the only ones to pull it off right...)
Texas Cloverleaf ( Only Dean Malenko pulls it off right)
Edge-U-Cation (Sharpshooter On Crack...cool)
Haas-Of-Pain (That is going to be stolen by alot of people over the next 10 years)
Figure 4 (Just because of the mark-out value)

It shouldn't be that hard. Take down a guy as if you were going to put on the walls of jericho. Use your left foot to step over his right leg, bend over his left knee, lock leg on it, fall back, apply pressure. I'm sure if you practice it, you could slap it on pretty quickly.

DaveWadding 04-23-2004 11:29 PM

Haas of Pain is sickalicious

but I'm a fan of the classics.... Sharpshooter.

EazyMack 04-24-2004 02:39 AM

Figure-4, only when Ric Flair does it. F*ckers never tap anymore though.

Also Texas Cloverleaf, Dean Malenko was one of my favorites.

I never get to see SmackDown, don't actually know what the Haas of Pain is, but I look forward to seeing it now.

PureHatred 04-24-2004 02:56 AM

Haas of Pain..it is, as mentioned, sickalicious.

EazyMack 04-24-2004 03:10 AM

Ooh, nice.

Watson 04-24-2004 03:25 AM

The Texas Cloverleaf and the STF. I use both when I wrestle but in my variation of the STF I lock my opponent in a Full Nelson while I have their leg hooked.

Bad Company 04-24-2004 04:27 AM

Figure 4 Around the ringpost

Boondock Saint 04-24-2004 05:12 AM

Crossface, Haas of Pain, Sharpshooter.

I'm curious as to what this Cattle Mutilation looks like though.

Aussie Skier 04-24-2004 05:46 AM

The sharpshooter was awesome.

When I was younger, I was a massive Lex Luger fan too, so I used to love the Rebel rack (torture rack).

Hass of pain looks good too, never actually seen it in action (other than the pic above)

I think the best submissions are the ones which arent to complicated. I'm nota fan of the brock lock cos i just cant buy someone being able to put it on too easily.

Surprised no one mentioned the ankle lock.

Hired Hitman 04-24-2004 08:23 AM

I like the Ankle Lock, it's simple and can be locked on in so many ways.
