Would You Want to Hear Jim Ross in UFC?

I'm so used to the sound of Rogan and Goldberg. Would you guys want to hear a three man booth or maybe even just have J.R. on play by play and Rogan on color?

Honestly I think it'd be pretty cool, but I can't see it happening.

No fucking way.. If anyone was the third commentator itd have to be Randy couture..

It would definitely be weird hearing about slobberknockers in the UFC.

He is horrible with dated cliches and stupid hillbilly terminology.. The reason UFC commentating is good is it's real.. Not that the sport is real bit their reaction to bad calls by the ref and whatnot.. JR has spent the better part of 20 years selling storlines not actually commentating..

i wouldn't want to see him in mma. i am guessing he doesn't have a scooby when it comes to the intricate parts of guard passing etc. i'm sure he'd be great when guy a was stood across from guy b punching him in the face, but during the slower parts he would be grim.

i will pair up with krispy on this and hope for a couture/rutten commentary team

Goldy is awesome.. He has the voice and is uber knowledgable.. I only gets bad when he ties to act "cool" which isn't often.. He plays off Rogan well..

Jim Ross is a thousand times the commentator Joey Styles is was or will ever be. Such a faggy ECW fanboy thing to say, though I guess I'm not surprised.

Styles has a knowledge of submission wrestling which is a much better asset than slobbering on a microphone..

Commentators don't need a knowledge of anything, they need a command of the facts and a good memory for stats and winning runs and that kind of shit. The analysis and real knowledge is supplied by the co-commentator, in this case Joe Rogan or Randy Couture, that's the way it needs to be. Who gives a fuck if JR takes over, except that it will sound faintly ridiculous hearing a guy normally playing a character doing it straight? Mike Goldberg literally imparts fuck all insight to a UFC fight and is there to sound ethusiastic, shout "IT'S ALLLL OVER" and other cliched catchphrases.

Anyone who says Goldberg doesn't add actual play by play and analysis doesn't watch UFC..

goldberg is kind of shit. i'm not a fan. plus he relies on his catchphrases too often. my dream team is rogan and rutten :'(

I think a Rogan/ Bas combo would still need a guy like Goldberg to keep them from going on random tangents or rambling.... A Bob Costas or Joe Buck type guy who is talented and entertaining, but isn't going to overwhelm the show with his voice or personality.

I do think the MMA crowd would eat J.R. alive the second he screwed up just because he comes from wrestling.
