Games you have beaten multiple times
Final Fantasy Tactics - Once on PS1 and once on PSP "The War of the Lions." The very first time I played it I got to Wiegraf and got annihilated no matter what I did, so eventually I gave up and when I went back to see if my file was still there it had been erased. I was like 13 so I was kinda stupid I guess. A few years later I beat it properly, then a few years after that I beat it on PSP.
Final Fantasy 5 - Twice when I was 16. I started a new file right after I beat it the first time and beat that one within like two weeks, I was kinda cheating though because I used an emulator and had turbo/save states. Final Fantasy 7 - I have beaten this three times. Once when I first got it when I was in like 5th grade, then again in 9th grade, and once last summer. I started playing it again after that and if I finish it I will probably try to do 100%. Final Fantasy 9 - I got this when it came out and got to the final level and the disc was messed up or something and would freeze whenever you would encounter some enemy, and my file got erased before I ever got around to beating it. Then I finally did like five years later. Most recently, I started a game almost exactly a year ago and just finished it a few weeks ago after getting all my characters to level 99 and doing almost everything in the game. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest - Once when I was like 6 and once when I was like 17. Mega Man 2 - I have beaten this game like 20 times. I have lost count. Shadow of the Colossus - My friend and I beat it together twice I think. But I have not completed it 100% by myself yet. Super Mario RPG - Love this :( twice I think. In my most recent file which is a few years old I did pretty much everything I think. I remember beating this when I was like 7, g*d Probably Star Fox and Star Fox 64 but can't remember right now. |

Got it the week it came out, so I can't even begin to imagine how many times I've beaten it. I've played it so much that I once got to the Dr. Wily stages without getting hit. |

Three games from AssMan's list really stuck out to me.
I beat Mega Man 2 so many times, I have the muscle memory to dust off my NES right now and not have to continue once. I might mess up a jump or two on airman and one of the wily stages, but that game demanded a huge chunk of my childhood. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest and the first Star Fox are also special, due to the family bonding experience. My dad and I used to have SF high score competitions for the 3 routes, and see who could eek out a better score than the last. Mystic Quest was a really, really weak, easy, and linear game, but I loved it because it was the ONLY game my mom ever played all the way through and beat. She just usually watched, unless we were playing Space Invaders, Pictionary, or Tetris. my list in no particular order, and not including the above: Clash At Demonhead (obviously) Fallout 1 Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain Dragon Warrior(Quest) I Mega Man 9 Legend of Zelda I and Link to the Past Shining in the Darkness Phantasy Star I Crystalis The Guardian Legend Maniac Mansion (NES port, hamster explodable version) Fortified Zone Metal Gear (All of them- including the MSX Subsistance remakes) except the one on GBA River City Ransom Resident Evil Final Fantasy I and "2" StarTropics (didn't like the second nearly as much) MechWarrior II (before all the expansions) all of the Advance Wars games on GBA/DS except for Days of Ruin. Loved the story, but replay value was absent. I *STILL* replay Dual Strike. In fact, it's in my DS this instant. and of course f'n CONTRA!! I used to see how many times in a row I could win at that game before I lost all 30 men. Last I tried, I made it to like 3 1/2 (stupid electricity!) and considerably less with a second player doing the extra life stealing. |
