NXT Season IV Premier "NXT IV: The Voyage Home" or "The Next NXT Kid"

Tonight the boys are back in town, or so the WWE is saying for this 4th season of NXT!

Yes, 10 pm Only on NXT.wwe.com!

Savio 12-07-2010 11:02 PM

Logic isn't an option....fits WWE perfectly.

No Cole? WTF?

Savio 12-07-2010 11:03 PM

*stops watching*

parkmania 12-07-2010 11:11 PM

So, Brodus Clay just ripped off Ric Flair (IIRC) with the "two things you can do about it - nothing and like it".

parkmania 12-07-2010 11:14 PM

BTW, if WWE really expect to find a new US television home, they better make sure to not let the commentators take the piss out of the show this time around.

IMHO, Cole not being here not only helps sell the RKO from last night, but also is a good thing based on his character development and the above statement.

dronepool 12-07-2010 11:15 PM

Daniel Bryan wrestling? Cool, gonna watch season 4 as long as I don't forget about it.

legendkillerRKO 12-07-2010 11:16 PM

Brodus = awesome

Xerzes 12-07-2010 11:17 PM

Jacob Novak looks like a wet baby, and I can't think of a way to say it that doesn't sound creepy.

parkmania 12-07-2010 11:20 PM

OK, we've already got a contender for the DUH Moment of the Night:

Josh Matthews: "Nexus member David Otunga got his start here on NXT."

What Would Kevin Do? 12-07-2010 11:46 PM

Daniel Bryan's long ass airplane spin is awesome. Just saying.

dronepool 12-07-2010 11:46 PM

How the hell did he not get dizzy from that spin?

parkmania 12-07-2010 11:50 PM

And there's the Obscure Joke of the Night.

Todd Grisham, in talking about Derrick Bateman, coyly mentioned "Family Ties."

For those born after 1989, Justine Bateman played the older sister on the tv show "Family Ties."

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-07-2010 11:55 PM

When did Alberto take Dashing Cody Rhodes' advice of "No Pads=No Problemo?"

Surely, you can't be serious!

parkmania 12-07-2010 11:57 PM

I'm very serious.

And don't call me Shirley!

Corndad 12-08-2010 12:11 AM

Brodus is a dude. A freakin beast.

MIZantine Empire 12-08-2010 09:17 AM

god del rio is awesome

TazFTW86 12-08-2010 12:35 PM

I can see Del Rio's rat looking guy teaming up w/ Vance Archer...too bad hes not there, lol..

this can be an OK season...

main event was good

and not to brag, but my God-mother's brother looks alot like Del Rio, lol

Razzamajazz 12-08-2010 01:24 PM

that johnny curtis guy was in the opener of a house show i went to way back. he got on the mic and said he was the future of the wwe :|

Rammsteinmad 12-08-2010 01:32 PM

Nothing to add to this thread other than NXT is still in it's first year and is already on Season 4. How far do they plan on going? I see in five/six years time the entire WWE roster will be made of people who came from NXT.

Xero 12-08-2010 01:40 PM

I see it ending with Tough Enough, because TE will probably take over the NXT international spot and there would be no point in airing it just in the US online.

Although, assuming Tough Enough is on an actual season scheduel, I could see them alternating Tough Enough with a season or two of NXT.

RIP Leslie Nielsen, I'll never forget you searching for the Undertaker prior to SummerSlam 1994...

Yup, stating facts is so DUH.

Lock Jaw 12-09-2010 08:08 PM

Just watched it. This show is kinda crap without hot women and Michael Cole and Josh Matthews ripping it apart. Probably not gonna watch the rest of the season.

The Naitch 12-09-2010 10:58 PM

It needs more CM Punk on commentary

"John, my diet soda! John!"

The guy looks like Lara Emily

Mr. Nerfect 12-11-2010 01:56 AM

Again, I've got a good feeling about a lot of the rookies this season.

Brodus Clay
I'll reserve judgment until I see him in the ring, but it seems like he can do some cool suplexes. They don't seem to be playing up him being a second generation star, but whatever. Good on him, I guess, for getting an original shtick. Clay should totally bang Maryse on DiBiase and then tell him there's two things he can do about it -- nothing and like it.

Byron Saxton
He's got so much down-pat. He's just a natural performer. His timing for things is pretty awesome, but I want to see him in the ring. He's taking the Michael Tarver approach, but he's going to do a lot more with it, I think. He just does whatever the fuck he wants to do -- The Saxton Style. He'll find a job on either RAW or SmackDown! in no time.

Conor O'Brian
He's trying to be entertaining, and he's pretty solid. Kind of meh, but nothing offensive.

Derrick Bateman
Probably going to win the thing. In the ring, he didn't seem great, but he wasn't bad. Daniel Bryan is doing an amazing job as a Pro, and getting guys into him. Bryan knows he has the crowd in the palm of his hand, so he's passing Bateman onto them as their rookie of choice. The guy seems to be playing a face, but has a natural arrogant heel thing about him. He'll make an interesting character whichever way they go. If he wins, I wouldn't mind him using his title shot to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship. He and Bryan can wear attire with matching initials on them.

Jacob Novak
He'll probably be the first eliminated, unless he gets immunity. Novak is just oozing heel right now, so the fans won't take to him. He hasn't really impressed me in the ring, but the guy seems like a good athlete, and the WWE loves that. He'll probably insert himself pretty seemlessly as a heel stooge on SmackDown!.

Johnny Curtis
I enjoyed his reactions to things, and he seems to "get it." But other times he was trying too hard. Curtis is probably going to turn out to be the best all-round investment the WWE will get from this, but I think Bateman is off to a better start.

Lock Jaw 12-11-2010 03:22 AM

Don't think Brodus Clay is a second generation dude.

Mr. Nerfect 12-11-2010 04:01 AM

I must be thinking of someone else then. I think they might have been released. But when a few got re-hired, I thought Clay might have been among them, and that he was that dude for whatever reason.

Corndad 12-14-2010 11:57 PM

Brodus is looking like an animal so far and the favorite. I also loved the Bryan segment trying to teach the submission.

I don't think I have laughed as hard in a while as I did at the Karaoke contest. Only thing would have made it better would have been Clay doing the HBK theme lol

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-15-2010 10:58 AM

Brodus should be Koopa if they ever do another live action Mario Bros movie.

Mr. Nerfect 12-16-2010 08:51 AM

I hope to God they don't do another live action Mario Bros movie with "Koopa" in it.

I would mark out for Brodus Clay feuding with Santino Marella, though...

I'm going to watch the second episode now, but I'm going to go in with these being my expected rankings:

1. Johnny Curtis
2. Derrick Bateman
3. Byron Saxton
4. Jacob Novak
5. Brodus Clay
6. Conor O'Brien
