What are some "Must Have" Blu-Ray's?

My g/f bought me a Blu-ray player for Xmas and I'm looking to purchase some movies that benefit from being high def. Suggestions?

Since we got a Blu-Ray player a few weeks ago, the BRs my dad got were Avatar, 2012 and Angels and Demons.

Dark Knight has already been purchased. Cloverfield I figured wouldn't have benefitted much from being HD due to the shooting style.:?:

And Watchmen is making it's way through the mail to me as we <s>speak</s> type.

For Xmas I was bought Toy Story 3, Inception, Law Abiding Citizen and Body of Lies. Since then I have purchased Shutter Island, TDK and Watchmen.

I guess I'm looking for films that make you go "WOW" when you see them in all their HD glory. Avatar would probably be one.

Whatever David Attenborough has released in BluRay, including Planet Earth and Life.

Vox Populi 01-11-2011 01:30 AM

I'd think any and all Pixar films that you're interested in would be obvious. XL just said Inception AND Avatar, which were the exact two movies I was going to post. I'll be the 4th or 5th guy to say Planet Earth as well.

I was told that they'll soon be releasing "The Shield - The Complete Series" on Blu-Ray. As much as I love that show, WHY? What could the point of that possibly be, to make the deliberate grittiness and shakiness of the cinematography even grittier and shakier?

Aye, Planet Earth is magnificently shot and really shows off what Blu-Ray can do.

Has The Prestige come out on Blu-Ray yet? If so, Any good?

Requiem 01-11-2011 06:04 PM

Wall-E
Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Iron Man

Dunno what else. I bought Rome on blu-ray and was extremely pleased.
