Favorite Gimmick Match?

I've always been a fan of the battle royale. What about you guys?

ooTin 01-18-2011 08:28 PM

Royal Rumble
Hell in a Cell
TLC
Barbed Wire Rope
Hardcore
Falls Count Anywhere
Ultimate Submission

Razzamajazz 01-18-2011 08:50 PM

i used to enjoy the hell in a cell and tlc matches before thy became over used

dhellova guy 01-18-2011 08:57 PM

Wargames. Still my favorite to this day. The more people you could put into a cage the better.

Nicky Fives 01-18-2011 09:26 PM

Royal Rumble and HIAC before PG-13

MON$TER ENERGY 01-18-2011 09:45 PM

street fight

Xero 01-18-2011 09:55 PM

Hell in a Cell pre-Show/McMahons vs DX, where they debuted the taller version of it.

DLVH84 01-18-2011 11:13 PM

WarGames Match (5 vs. 5)
Tower Of Doom Match
Ladder Match
Iron Man Match
2-Ring Battle Royal (examples: Great American Bash 1989 and Starrcade 1991)
Best Of 7 Series
2 Out Of 3 Falls Match
Steel Cage Match
Barbed Wire Match
Street Fight
I Quit Match

My favourite gimmick match of all-time is probably the Battle Bowl that WCW did a few times in the early 90's. I wish WWE would bring it back. I remember a few years ago, it was included in a poll on WWE.com about which type of match or themed PPV they should have or something like that.

Rammsteinmad 01-19-2011 01:41 AM

Ladder, TLC or Money in the Bank. Anything involving a ladder is fun.

Dante69 01-19-2011 02:38 AM

Triple Stacked Cage

dronepool 01-19-2011 02:47 AM

Royal Rumble
Ladder
TLC
Battle Royale
2 Out Of 3 Falls Match
Iron Man
Hardcore/Extreme Rules

Tom Guycott 01-19-2011 02:53 AM

Extremely suprised nobody has mockingly thrown out "Judy Bagwell-on-a-pole".

3 Way Dance. I liked the idea of the match continuing after an elimination instead of just having an extra guy having nothing to do with the outcome like Triple Threat.

RiX1024 01-19-2011 06:53 AM

Wargames hands down. Ladder or TLC matches are awesome as well. I get bored on Iron Man matches and not keen on 3-4 way dances.

bigslimjj 01-19-2011 11:38 AM

Wargames,Royal Rumble,Scramble match(Bring it back WWE,you morons.)last man standing, 3 Stages of hell. Iron man match,bra and panties:naughty:

Lara Emily 01-19-2011 11:39 AM

Judy Bagwell on a pole match

Gertner 01-19-2011 11:45 AM

Viagra on a pole match.

Nightwing 01-19-2011 11:58 AM

Royal Rumble. Always has been.

Over the years add Money in the Bank to the list.

Rollermacka 01-19-2011 12:05 PM

YAPAPI!!!!!

Seriously though, I always do like the Strap/ Bullrope/ Dogcollar match. You dont have that "heel runs away" thing, plus you get some choking and painful whiping.

Always prefered this, if a title changed hands then the champion was pinned at some point at least.

And i enjoyed the triple cage match too, but Wargames is still the best cage match gimmick of all time.

Haze 01-19-2011 12:25 PM

Hell in a Cell back when it actually meant something. Since it's debut the Money in the Bank has been a match to watch out for.

MoFo 01-19-2011 01:02 PM

Elimination Chamber.

I dont really like TLC matches when its a one-on-one, think its better suited to tag team matches.

Theo Dious 01-19-2011 09:31 PM

Battle Royal, with the Royal Rumble obviously being the pinnacle.
Elimination Chamber
I also like the triple-decker cage, even though the ones I've seen have all been booked like shite.
Any elimination tag match a la classic Survivor Series.

Theo Dious 01-19-2011 09:32 PM

I also liked it when some outside irritant was hoisted above the ring in a cage. They did this to Lawler once in a Bret Hart vs Isaac Yankem match, and also to Cornette though I forget who was involved. I want to say it also happened to Paul Bearer at some point. Not exactly a gimmick match, but a fun stip.

Pretty sure that happened with Chyna once.

Stickman 01-19-2011 09:57 PM

I seem to remember WCW had a three ring match thing. I also remember enjoying that but I'm having trouble remembering.

It was a three-ring, 60-man battle royal (20 men per ring).

Don't forget the Coal Miner's Glove Match.

XCaliber 01-20-2011 12:16 AM

Royal Rumble, MITB, Elimination Chamber, Ladder Matches, Battle Royale, etc.

Executioner 01-20-2011 01:28 AM

War Fucking Games. (5 vs 5) or (4 vs 4) not the (3 vs 3 vs 3) or triple cage bullshit. Old school NWA WarGames rules.

I remember the ppv name was World War 3. They held two of them at the Palace of Aurburn Hills in Michigan.

That was a great ppv to watch.

Another match they did was a King of the Road match where as a semi truck was driving they were fighting on the bed of it. Was fun to watch.
