Mania main-event

Who should Del Rio he face at Mania?

He has been having a long feud with Rey should he cap it off beating him for the title at Mania? Or should he face Edge which seems more like a Mania caliber match.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-31-2011 01:14 AM

Right now I'm going to go with Edge since there is a lack of quality choices in the poll. Why not at least the WWE Champion the Miz as a real pick-able choice?

Mr. Pierre 01-31-2011 01:19 AM

I'm gonna say Edge since they already have the whole "you injured my best friend" thing going on. And I think it'll be the "first half" main event.

What Would Kevin Do? 01-31-2011 01:27 AM

I could see an Edge vs. Del Rio vs. Christian match, that could be amazing if WWE built it up right.

thedamndest 01-31-2011 01:28 AM

At this point I don't think Christian V. Edge is any more of a Mania draw than Del Rio v. Edge. It would be on par with Matt v. Jeff.

CSL 01-31-2011 01:31 AM

Kevin Nash obv. Just need to get both of the titles on him which is easily done, just have him Jacknife and pin Miz and Edge on the next two TV tapings and we're set. Gonna be huge.

thedamndest 01-31-2011 01:32 AM

I can't wait until Nash unveils that new submission he's been working on.

thedamndest 01-31-2011 01:32 AM

I hear he just tells you he's going to apply it and you quit on the spot.

Lock Jaw 01-31-2011 01:34 AM

Much as I love Christian, he's probably gonna be nowhere near the main events at WM.

Eklipse 01-31-2011 01:39 AM

Miz vs Orton vs Cena for WWE championship
Alberto Del Rio vs Edge for World Heavyweight Championship

That's my thinking.

Londoner 01-31-2011 01:42 AM

Shit poll. But a match v Edge would be exactly the kind of match that would suit him. I think it could be a classic to.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-31-2011 02:54 AM

Christian, Nash, Booker T...

damn tna u suck now..

Angle also said he'd like to return to WWE eventually.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-31-2011 02:57 AM

I'm a betting man that it'll be Christian vs Edge vs Del Rio. Christian is a clear face, Edge is in the middle, and Del Rio is a heel that we love to hate like Miz.

It'd be a perfect clash at Wrestlemania.

I can see Cena vs Orton vs Miz at mania too.
Cena is a big face.
Orton is the middle man (viper).
Miz is the heel we love to hate.

Expecting to see Nexus vs Corre.

#1-norm-fan 01-31-2011 06:30 AM

I think it's obviously either going to be Punk vs. Orton and Miz vs. Cena for the title.

They could go fatal four-way but I'd rather they didn't.

It is the most likely scenario after the events of tonight. Raw title is obviously going to headline, btw.

Rammsteinmad 01-31-2011 08:12 AM

Del Rio will probably move to Raw. Can't have the Royal Rumble winner on Smackdown can we.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-31-2011 08:37 AM

he's on both somehow

Dorkchop 01-31-2011 10:32 AM

Christian won't be wrestling for any title at Mania. I love the guy, but it's painfully obvious WWE has no intentions of giving him a main event push. He has been one of the best booked mid card guys in the last decade.

I feel they will have Nash vs Wade. Funny because of all the comments Nash made about fucking Wades wife.

CSL 01-31-2011 10:56 AM

I was thinking this during his entrance, Barrett was smiling front, centre and up close on camera while Nash was walking to the ring, I wonder what that was Barrett, be it 'planting seeds' or marking for Nash or anything related to Nash's comments (95% sure he's not married though) etc etc.

Xero 01-31-2011 10:57 AM

Miz vs Cena is going to be the main event. Putting anything above that would be stupid.

Wade also eliminated Nash as well.

Jordan 01-31-2011 11:00 AM

At Elimination Chamber we may see Miz and Orton one more time, as well as a Raw number one contender match with Cena vs New Nexus in Elimination Chamber to make a number one contender....

I just don't think Cena/Punk will make it to Wrestlemania.

Rammsteinmad 01-31-2011 11:20 AM

WWE are focusing on young guys now! It's taken them the loss of all their major talents to realise what needs to be done, but over the last year they've really got their asses in gear and started building up a whole new WWE.

So why would they go and book someone like Kevin Nash in a match at Wrestlemania? Against Wade Barrett? Give me a break, ain't gonna happen.

I took Barretts smile during Nash as a simple heel 'oh yeah, this'll be interesting' type of grin.

blake639raw 01-31-2011 11:27 AM

I could possibly see them doing some kind of special WCW match at WrestleMania, with it being the anniversary of their closing. Maybe like a battle royal with a bunch of WCW guys or something.

'Someone like Kevin Nash'? You mean the same guy that had the loudest reaction of the entire PPV?

Grablot 01-31-2011 12:13 PM

EDGE.

Plz not Rey.

Edge would be fresh and new, Rey would be a borrrrrrrring reharsh and no matter how talented El Rio is we all know WWE will not have him beat Mysterio again cuz that will make Mysterio look like a total loser and he is now a big cash machine for the WWE.

So I think EDGE would be much better. The build up could be AMAZING.
Also I dont want Christian to get involved, not yet anyway. I know WWE has to do this feud some day but at this point Christian is just soooo boring and dull that he would drag the feud down with his corny jokes and dumb facials.

It's called nostalgia.

Jordan 01-31-2011 12:52 PM

I bet Christian costs Edge the title before Wrestlemania, Del Rio faces Rey. Been reading bout how important Mexican's are to WWE right now, this seems logical.

lol I see, that's why he got the biggest pop. Nostalgia. By that reasoning, shouldn't every guy that hasn't been on WWE TV in more than say, 5 years get the same kind of reaction?

The fatal fourway? I don't see how that was at all hinted. Miz completely turned his attention to Cena in the Rumble to eliminate him, completely ignoring Orton. And Orton didn't really interact with Miz. It seems more logical to me that Orton and Punk are on their own path while Miz and Cena are on theirs.

I dont see him wrestling past mania, which he shouldn't.

If it's a surprise than... yes.

Kevin Nash's reactions will putter out if you keep putting him on television.

Look, he got a great pop, I'll give you that. However, there's not much he can do at this point in the ring. He was a big star in wrestling's past, of course he'll get a bigger return pop than Sylvan Grenier or Rosey. However, said pop isn't reason for him to get a permanent spot on the roster as a wrestler in 2011.

Of course they would, that's the case for everybody but the very top guys during their hottest periods. I'm not talking about making him the focus of the product here.

And no, any old random guy would not get a response like that no matter how much of a surprise it was.

Look, guys have gotten spots for much less. Any problems he has can easily be covered. And who said anything about permanent?

wehavebensavedy2j 01-31-2011 02:06 PM

I would love to see Edge vs Christian vs Del Rio.. maybe have Christian win MITB (if they are doing it at WM this year) and add himself to the match

Miz vs John Cena
Edge vs Christian vs Del Rio
Randy Orton vs CM Punk
Nexus vs Corre

Schlomey 01-31-2011 02:08 PM

Miz vs Cena - Title
Orton vs Punk
Del Rio vs Edge
WCW Battle Royal
Michelle vs Layla
MITB?

ideas people.

Evil Vito 01-31-2011 02:09 PM

The Raw title will obviously be the headliner, as it should be. The only lock is that Cena will be involved in some way. Not sure if he'll face Miz, Orton, or Punk (possibly a combo or all 3 even) - they can go in a lot of different directions with EC in the middle.

As for Del Rio, a triple threat with Edge and Christian would be the goods. Kinda feel like one of the titles has to be a one-on-one match though so I dunno.
