Anarchy Reigns
 

Platinum Games have announced Max Anarchy, an online fighting game with Jack from MadWorld in it. A screenshot (which I can't find) in Famitsu has people battling with chainsaws and torches :heart:

It's on the 360 and PS3 and in full colour.

There aren't any screenshots yet because it's not been officially announced.

It has, it was in the most recent Famitsu.

Just found the shot on the Metro newspaper's website, of all places.

Sega and Platinum Games change the name of Max Anarchy to now Anarchy Reigns.

The game is expected to take Madworld's style for fighting and over-the-top action mixed with Vanquish's artistic design.

No single player is expected since the team really wants to create a "MMO"-like game involving brawling with teams or free-for-all.

It looks like it has shades of action game mechanics in there... I'm getting hype...

I can't honestly endorse this game. Some of the most frustrating gameplay this side of MvC3. Wow.

I got this as I am generally a fan of all things Platinum. I don't know what to make of it. I'm a bit disappointed that you only get the choice of two characters in single player, but then the game is all about the multiplayer so I reluctantly drag myself online. I was able to get a few kills but more often that not I was getting pasted myself. The whole thing is very disorientating, but I like to remember just how bad I was when I first played CoD online.

I sort of regretted getting this but at the same time I can see myself trying out the multiplayer and aiming to get slightly better, without feeling too stressed about it. I wouldn't say it's anything like MvC3 though, even in the frustration stakes - you know what you're in for if you're entering a crowd.

Me and Khuntry been running this game's multiplayer through the paces and there's a few mechanics that are either contradictory to the overall gameplay or just plain off. A major update or sequel should turn this arena fighter into something much more solid. It's a first try on a high concept so we let them slide on that much. I'll check out God of War Ascension multiplayer vids to see how that compares.

I pledged to give up on Street Fighter recently as after 20 years I am still rubbish. I blame the lack of human competition and my own thick head for the lack of progress. I try to carefully limit my exposure to fighters these days, and the multiplayer focus of this is the right thing, where I'm not just getting thrashed in a one on one.

Now you can get thrashed 4 on 1.

What a night I had with this game. Started off drilling against a bot until I was able to win a cage match with it. Then went on and got thrashed in a deathmatch and CTF, obviously. Then did some Deathball games, which was a lot of fun playing football, and then you have the Survival mode where it's you and two other players taking on AI. I went in with a couple of veterans and I learned so much about the system in the process. I really enjoyed that playstyle and would happily do that for a long time, but it's also been drilling me and getting me ready for going against other humans as I've been able to watch other people fight in the battle royales and see how other people do things. This is more than a simple fighting game, and it's more than just it's base mechanics.
