Kurt Angle vs The Jarrett Family Angle

Quote:

Kurt Angle posted the following on Twitter regarding this week’s TNA iMPACT!:

“The “Jarrett” segments on TNA Impact were appalling. It made me look like a dead beat Dad, which I am not (I can assure you). And it made Karen and Jeff look like the perfect American Family. MY kids were calling Jeff “Daddy Jeff”.

“NOBODY will ever replace me as the Father of my kids. You want me to look like the bad person? Don’t forget who wanted the divorce! I didn’t walk away from my family, Karen did. So keep your little “act” going on TV. It’s amusing to me, but don’t think for a million years that my fans are buying this crap.”

That tweet sparked a bit of interest from me, and left me even more intrigue on how Kurt has been handling this angle. But since he "tweeted" about it, does it mean that his "true feelings" on Twitter are just a work? Where I am getting at is, wouldn't Kurt Angle of been able to just say no to the angle, but instead he agreed to it and now it's upsetting him? Or has TNA gone further left than agreed upon by the initial party, this causing and maybe being the reason he ends up not resigning, and ends up going back home to the E?

GD 02-06-2011 03:41 PM

I kinda feel sad for Kurt.

Ruien 02-06-2011 03:42 PM

Hmm, guess I will have to go look for the video.

YoungFlyFlashy 02-06-2011 03:46 PM

...........

SOCCER LEGS 02-06-2011 03:47 PM

my first impression after reading that was that it is a work, but then i saw how he wrote "don't forget who asked for the divorce" which i don't believe angle would have mentioned if it was a work.

Ruien 02-06-2011 03:53 PM

TNA better hope this is a work, otherwise Kurt is going to be gone when his contract is up.

Ruien 02-06-2011 03:54 PM

Or Kurt may just snap during a match and beat the shit out of Jeff for real.

After seeing the same video Kurt's talking about, I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

now that i'd tune in for.

bigslimjj 02-06-2011 04:32 PM

I'm thinking it's a work. Either way it's good tv.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-06-2011 04:39 PM

I love this storyline. It's the only thing keeping my DVR set to record Impact so I can skip everything else and watch it and Madison Rayne. I'd love to do bad stuff to her.

BizarroKing 02-06-2011 04:43 PM

Angle is one of the last good things TNA have going for them...and now they might fuck it up...

CSL 02-06-2011 04:48 PM

lol this is great, Jarrett heeling on Kurt's little son on the tour of the house video. It's a work.

CSL 02-06-2011 04:55 PM

lollll the kids dancing to Jarrett's music

whiteyford 02-06-2011 04:59 PM

Russo's never done a worked shoot before:shifty:

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-06-2011 05:29 PM

Twitter seems so low rent to include in a storyline.

CSL 02-06-2011 05:31 PM

You mean Twitter as in the worlds most popular social networking site when it comes to celebrity interaction?

Ruien 02-06-2011 05:32 PM

Ya, it is a work. Maybe make the family dinner a little less corny and I would have been hooked on it being real.

CSL 02-06-2011 05:32 PM

It's supposed to be corny, it's supposed to look staged, like it's all being done for the cameras.

Nicky Fives 02-06-2011 06:24 PM

If Angle is indeed upset (in which I highly doubt), it will be enough for him to return to WWE.....

Jakob Synn 02-06-2011 06:37 PM

This angle felt very unsetting and disturbing from the start for me.

abec 02-06-2011 09:42 PM

It doesnt matter if its a work or not, its fucking stupid and trash TV. TNA needs to go out of business already, Jeff Jarrett is a tool and will never draw. Christ, just thinking that TNA is the second promotion out there makes me want to fucking vomit.

TNA = xpac heat

I don't mind turning real life events into storylines but this is something that's very close to the heart. I mean how long was it that Kurt and Karen were divorced before Jeff moved in?

They had divorced in mid-2008. Around July 2009 I believe it was, an anonymous call was made into the Bubba the Love Sponge Radio show revealing that Karen Angle and Jeff Jarrett were living together.

CSL 02-06-2011 10:57 PM

Who gives a fuck anyway? If Kurt Angle doesn't have a problem with it, it doesn't matter if anybody else does.

Loose Cannon 02-06-2011 11:11 PM

rofl @ the kids dancing to Jarrett's music in part 3

Theo Dious 02-06-2011 11:41 PM

If it leads to Angle shooting on Jarrett mid-match I'm all for this angle.

kareru 02-07-2011 01:21 PM

Jarrett Family Values > Hogan Knows best

whiteyford 02-07-2011 01:34 PM

Manson family values > Hogan knows best:shifty:

Thank you CSL for bringing some sense of understanding of the business to this topic.

You don't think they would run this angle without Kurt's consent? I'd wager that most of it is his idea. He has creative input in TNA doesn't he? Especially in his own storylines.

You think he'd turn up to the next set of tapings if he wasn't happy?

*UGH*

MoFo 02-07-2011 11:42 PM

Jarrett has been pure class the last few months.

erickman 03-10-2011 09:20 PM

so what did vince do to angle, he said he would rather retire from a company ran by a guy who is porking his ex-wife then go back to the wwe.

He doesn't want to work 300 dates a year.

TNA caters to Kurt
WWE caters to no one

erickman 03-11-2011 07:12 AM

could'nt angle get a nash like contract only work a few shows in wwe. there must have been a real blow up betwean him and vince when he left.

Schlomey 03-11-2011 10:13 AM

I got to the part in the videos where daddy Jeff is making them pray. I can't stands no more. Appalling.

You forgot the part where they have to escape a cage first, then fight to the REAL ring where a kid is strapped to opposite ends of the pole. The only way to win is to escape the cage, get to the real ring, touch all four corners, and remove the kids in alphabetical order....was a small detail, but figured I'd finish it out.

parkmania 03-11-2011 08:31 PM

And the kids can be used as weapons after you pull them down.
