TNA-5 Years from now

With the recent ratings spike and a solid ppv showing last night,TNA is showing to me that they could possibly be steady compitition to WWE in the future. In your opinion, where wil the company be in five years. Will they be defunct and closed down? Could they ever over take the strangle hold that Mcmahon has on the buisness, and become number one in the ratings? Will they combine with ROH and make the IWC websites explode? Post your thoughts below.

ooTin 02-14-2011 12:43 PM

In 5 years TNA will have been closed for 3 years.

Xero 02-14-2011 12:45 PM

What ratings spike?

They just had the second highest rated show ever, including specials monday night shows etc. They were on a good streak of almost 2 million for a few weeks there.

ooTin 02-14-2011 12:47 PM

I think he was just stating that they have high ratings ON spike? Maybe? Oh wait, that cant be it because they are not even the #1 show on Spike TV. A station that runs 3 hours of COPS reruns 2 times a day. What a joke channel with joke programing. Except the cage fighting and 1000 ways to die.

*correction*

BizarroKing 02-14-2011 12:49 PM

If they can somehow...SOMEHOW, get fans to care for their product they might stay in business for 5 years. If not...RIP. Already made them a Tombstone.

ooTin 02-14-2011 12:50 PM

Everything they do just seems so forced.

Your nep rep count says all I need to know about your genius opinion.

Rammsteinmad 02-14-2011 12:54 PM

Nothing like a good ol' 'TNA will be gone' thread.

In five years time TNA will be in the same position as it is now. The #2 company, but nowhere near competing with WWE.

Unless the world ends next year.

bigslimjj 02-14-2011 12:57 PM

This is more of a "crystal ball thread",then a "TNA will be gone thread". Certain posters tend to go that route more times then not.

Still on Spike getting 1.2 ratings. (best case scenario)

Out of business (worst case scenario)

Once again...

They get funding from Panda Energy, unless that ends and since its Dixies father thats unlikely, they will still be in business in 5+ years.

Ultra Mantis 02-14-2011 02:04 PM

Ratings spike? They're still doing a 1.2 rating, which has pretty much been the average rating for Impact since they got a second hour. They aren't attracting new fans and they won't unless they drastically improve the writing and production, so I would say in 5 years TNA will be doing a 1.2 rating.

MoFo 02-14-2011 02:18 PM

At some point Dixie's dad will say 'fuck this shit'.

Cant believe anyone likes losing money, no matter how rich they are.

legendkillerRKO 02-14-2011 03:07 PM

they will be a Tuesday nite show on SyFy producing such winners as Colin Delaney, Yoshi Tatsu and Braden Walker....oh wait.....

Waylander 02-14-2011 03:08 PM

No matter how many big stars they sign (Jeff Hardy, Hulk, Bischoff etc) they still seem incapable of raising their ratings far beyond what they were years ago. With all these signings and all the advantages the company has they've made little, if any, progress. With this in mind why should I believe anything will change?

Brigstocke 02-14-2011 03:18 PM

They need to increase their production values, they have the talent and could employ better writers. but somehow TNA dosen't seem like as much of a 'spectacle' as WWE.

Plus all the people who have said they will be out of business are completely stupid. They have a never ending stream of money coming from an energy company, for as long as people exist they will need to buy energy. Thus the energy company and others affiliated with it are pretty safe until sitting in candlelight looking at a blank screen becomes a popular pastime.

A week before last they averaged 1.9 million people. That's a good rating for cable on most channels in the states. They have mainstream advertising. If they had more local ads or lesser known advertisers it would be a sign of losing revenue and getting low ad sales. That's what's most important anyway. I believe they've turned a profit the last two years anyway, due mainly to the house shows.

dhellova guy 02-14-2011 04:18 PM

No where. They will either be dead or in the same exact position they are in now.

A better question is, in five years, will anyone remember TNA. Has it made any impact on the industry?

Probably not.

Theyve always been around that number though with the two hour thursday Impact, 1.2 in the nielsen ratings does not mean 1.2 million people watched. They havent gained a significant number of viewers or had a ratings spike.

whiteyford 02-14-2011 05:12 PM

Even when they changed days they kept the same ratings, they do have a loyal fanbase, it just never seems to grow. 1.2 on spike i think is a decent rating, internationally i think they do ok too, but unless they are in profit eventually then even a steady viewership wont help them longterm.

The Naitch 02-14-2011 05:38 PM

5 years from now TNA will have been closed for 4 years and 364 days

The Naitch 02-14-2011 05:39 PM

also in 5 years Dixie Carter will be pregnant with Hulk Hogans' baby.

Razzamajazz 02-14-2011 06:02 PM

so TNA puts on ONE not completely shit show and they're starting to become a competitor with WWE?
