I swear, if Brother Love or Val Venis don't show up and do something for Valentine's Day.....

Corndad 02-14-2011 07:41 PM

If I'm reading it right on the front page it looks like the King won't be on Raw tonight at all as his mother passed away in Memphis over weekend.

Nicky Fives 02-14-2011 07:46 PM

Josh Mathews' time to shine.....

Beth Phoenix Fan 02-14-2011 07:47 PM

BizarroKing 02-14-2011 07:58 PM

Who will be the guest host? Bob Barker? Rocky? ...Steve Blackman?

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-14-2011 08:03 PM

Anybody who spoils in this thread is dead to me.

MoFo 02-14-2011 08:06 PM

From WWE.com -

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Jerry “The King” Lawler will not be at Raw tonight because his mother, Hazel, passed away Monday at the age of 90. She had been suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease for eight years.

WWE.com’s Joey Styles spoke with the WWE Hall of Famer earlier today.

“Three years ago, we had no choice but to put her in a nursing home for people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. The home was in Water Valley, Miss., where her brother, Larry, lives and is about 100 miles from my home in Memphis,” Lawler explained.

“I visited her every week. Her physical health has always been good, but she had no more short-term memory. Luckily, she always recognized me and my brother, Larry,” he said.

“About a month ago, her physical health started to deteriorate. I got the call telling me she passed away on Sunday morning.

“I feel like I’m letting people down by not being at Raw tonight, but there is just so much to do for her final arrangements.”

“The King” shared some special memories with WWE.com about his mother’s relationship to the business her son has thrived in for decades.

“My mom worked for us at Memphis Wrestling for 15 years, selling advance tickets at the Mid South Coliseum box office three days a week. My mom was a typical mom in that she thought wrestling was too dangerous,” he said. “She sold tickets to my matches, but she couldn’t bear to watch them. She was always happy for my success though. It’s true what they say – nobody ever loves you like your mother.”

Lawler also revealed the passing of his mother would be on his mind this Sunday.

“There’s no way you can put the loss of your mother out of your mind. I thought about my mother all the time. I’ll definitely be thinking of her on Sunday when I wrestle The Miz for the WWE Championship. This will be one last opportunity to make her proud of my career.”

You know... I really, really.... REALLY hate saying it, because I've hated this feud from the start, and hated the possibility that he'd get the strap - that said... With the circumstance, and all he's done for the company; give him the strap. Do a finish that doesn't hurt the Miz, Randy Orton, whatever. Give him the strap, let him have his moment and then flip it back where Miz looks out right dominant.

AMEN to that! The guy has been loyal to, and worked hard for, the company since he got there and he deserves it. Plus now, with his mother's passing, it'd be appropriate.

El Fangel 02-14-2011 08:45 PM

For the first time in 5 years, I am about to watch WWE Raw...

This is strange.

Xero 02-14-2011 08:47 PM

RawRocks 02-14-2011 08:59 PM

I remember the days when USA Network would preempt Raw for the Dog Show and remember one year Raw started at 11pm ET due to it.

Innovator 02-14-2011 08:59 PM

Will the show FINALLY start?

The Gold Standard 02-14-2011 09:00 PM

The Gold Standard 02-14-2011 09:01 PM

Who has said it will be Justin Timberlake or Will Smith?

ClockShot 02-14-2011 09:01 PM

Heh heh. Wonder how much of a punishment Truth is going to get for his fuckup from last week.

The Gold Standard 02-14-2011 09:02 PM

Ok, because Vince is not here announcing who the guest host is for Mania, it makes me believe it will be Bob Barker.

Londoner 02-14-2011 09:02 PM

Should be chucked out of the Chamber match for no selling that move so much.

SOCCER LEGS 02-14-2011 09:05 PM

The Gold Standard 02-14-2011 09:05 PM

Londoner 02-14-2011 09:08 PM

Woooo, glad thats over.

Emperor Smeat 02-14-2011 09:08 PM

Why would Cena eat crayons when he was only fired for 2 weeks. Is he trying to be worser than Flair with money.

Innovator 02-14-2011 09:08 PM

GRAYS SPORTS ALAMANAC

Londoner 02-14-2011 09:09 PM
