Smackdown Spoilers
 

* Rey Mysterio, Edge, John Morrison, R-Truth, Randy Orton and John Cena beat CM Punk, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett, Kane and Drew McIntyre in the opener. The faces all hit their finishers and Edge pinned Ziggler for the win.

* Vickie Guerrero came out and said she will prove Edge assaulted Teddy Long and says Dolph's coronation as champion will be later tonight.

* Maryse and Layla vs. Eve Torres and Beth Phoenix is up next. McCool comes out limping with a cast on her right foot to do commentary. Maryse and Layla got the win after McCool interfered. She was selling the foot injury but definitely appeared to be legitimately injured.

* The Miz beats Kofi Kingston when Alberto Del Rio comes out and interferes.

* Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov beat Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater by DQ to retain the tag team titles. The Corre interfered to cause the DQ. Big Show came out and made the save.

* Teddy Long returned during the Dolph Ziggler World Title coronation ceremony. Teddy books Edge vs. Ziggler for the World Title now.

* Edge defeated Dolph Ziggler to become the "new" World Heavyweight Champion. Teddy fires Dolph after the match, leaving a spot open in the Elimination Chamber. Edge celebrated in the ring while confetti dropped and the crowd sang goodbye to Ziggler.


Whole lot of you're fired angles going on, kinda seems pointless to have put the belt on Zigggler just to pad Edge's title reign counts

Which now begs the question, who gets the last spot in the EC for SD

Most likely scenario is Dolph somehow gets rehired in time to take back his spot.

Isn't Evan Bourne ready to come back? He could go in.

I could see Christian coming back...

That show was packed for sure. I dont think Ziggy will be recognized as a champ though

I keep getting the feeling it'll be Mysterio vs Del Rio for the WHT at WM27.

I think he had like 4 more weeks or something

EC is two days after this airs. Doubt they'd have time to 'rehire' him.

I always get Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler confused.

But after checking before I know now that Ziggler is ok and Swagger looks like a fucking retard and I can't stand him. Not in a "good heel" way, too.

Doubt it's Taker since it makes the 2/21/11 stuff meaningless.

I would say the replacement would be Big Show, but they seem really intent on not putting him in main events these days.

So did they not announce Del Rio/Kofi for the PPV? Only got 3 matches so far and these two could put on a show.

I'd expect Long to add it to the card at the PPV, or they "announce it" Friday or it just shows up on the final card before the PPV.

Christian taking Ziggler's place would be nice, but I doubt it'll be him. Maybe they'll throw Masters in there for shits and giggles?

Triple H/Del Rio @ Mania, book it.

It'd be pretty awesome if it were Triple H, since no one has really considered him going to SmackDown!. This is obviously just a way to get people guessing about the PPV and increase sales. The whole storyline sounds awesome -- ESPECIALLY if Ziggler is officially regarded as a former World Heavyweight Champion. Keep in mind that the draft is coming up, so Ziggler could get a gig on RAW, and get drafted back to SmackDown! after Money in the Bank has been and gone. Or he could win MITB and return to SmackDown!.

Christian is probably the best surprise that won't blow any big Mania plans.

IDK, the way Triple H was written off RAW for all this time, saying that it was because of Sheamus attacking him, makes it almost MANDATORY that he comes back and seeks revenge.

Does this make Edge an 11 time Heavyweight Champion?

It's definitely possible, but I think he most likely will face Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania.

Watch them put Del Rio in the Chamber and he'll win it at EC rather than Mania, though I would rather see him face Kofi. Christian returning would be awesome. They wouldn't let him win, but it would be cool to see him back.

Ha, if he IS recognized as a former WWE champion...its almost not worth it. When Kane had his 1 day reign, at least he got to fight for it. I wouldnt even call myself na former champ, and I don't think he will be recognized as a former champion

Where is Tarver? Seemed like he would be doing something for a few weeks but hes disappeared just as quickly.

Ziggler's title reign probably won't be officially recognised, but he can still go around bragging about how he was world champion for some cheap heel heat.

Smackdown! is so boring with Edge as the champion.

Wonder if the image of Ziggler with the world title will become as infamous as Brian Kendrick: Interim WWE Champion
