I was 14 when I decided cheat codes and devices were gay and went uninterested ever since.

Codes for non-gameplay stuff like alt attire or whatever I'm cool with (though nowadays that's DLC). 'God mode' shit I can do without, but why bother with games going out of their way to keep you alive.

They are fun, and add replay value in games like GTA.

But stuff that is specificly made to help people beat a game is dumb. Even on the casual gamer level. Part of the fun of video games is the sense of accomplishment you get when you finally beat a game, or even a tough level. That experience is felt across the board, from hardcore gamers to even your girlfriend who tries it out once a millenia.

I do not see the fun in just plowing through everything using god mode. It might be fun for a couple minutes, but without the challenge I do not understand how someone can play a game all the way through using it.

Also, it makes you a giant fairy.

Yeah, I am a hypocrite. If I could use a konami code in real life, I totally would.

But only so I could eventually see flying cars.

I use cheat codes if I could, they make games more fun to screw around with if you don't want to be serious, like in Hitman and GTA games.

I was 8 years old when I first got Final Fantasy 7. My dad used a smart box to get all my stats up to the top and give me all the summonings. Made the game easy up untill the end of disk 3, One winged Seph takes so many Knights of the Round...
Completed it again without cheats then, ended up getting stuck for months on Dyne at the end of, Gold Saucer? Sense of accomplishment was so amazing :)

Using cheat codes on open-world games like GTA is completely allowed. Dicking around is half the premise of those games.

I once died because of the flying car code in GTA4. Landed on an island got out of the car and was just running around. I ended up falling into this little gopher hole with nothing more than a puddle of water at the bottom. Well since your guy couldn't swim and I couldn't jump out of the hole, I ended up dying in a puddle of water that came up to my guys ankles.:nono:

You can swim in GTA4.

Hmmm, well then I don't know why my guy died. Everytime he touched the water he lost life. Not just then, but it seemed like if I ever fell in the water if I didn't get out quick enough I died. I didn't play that often though, so it's hard to say what I was doing wrong.

I prefer Saints Row 2's system of unlocking "cheats."

Though my favuorite to use is still "no fall damage."

Yes. But which is more fun? Parachuting? Or jumping out of a helicopter at 50,000 feet and crushing an old lady to death as you land?

I only use this code in Scott Pilgrim as a joke when I play co-op. It's funny to watch people enter it only to automatically die.
