Rumored WM27 Card (SPOILERS!)

Yes, yet another WrestleMania 27 card thread.

The Wrestling Observer posted this earlier today:

Quote:

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the following matches are planned for WrestleMania XXVII.

Announced Matches

The Undertaker vs. Triple H

WWE Championship Match
WWE Champion The Miz vs. John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole (with Jack Swagger)

TBA Matches

John Morrison, Kelly Kelly and Trish Stratus vs. Dolph Ziggler, Layla and Michelle McCool

Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett vs. Big Show, Christian, Kane and Kofi Kingston

Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio

WWE United States Championship Match
WWE United States Champion Daniel Bryan (with Gail Kim) vs. Sheamus (with Brie and Nikki Bella)

A yet to be determined Divas match

Finally, a Money in the Bank Ladder Match is not scheduled for the event.

Honestly, sounds like a piece of shit to me. What do you all think?

loopydate 03-07-2011 08:35 PM

It's not great, but I have faith (no idea why) that they can pull it off.

Don't like the Corre match. Would much rather have seen Barrett/Taker with H/Sheamus. But I guess that's what's left now that they're doing H/UT.

Swish 03-07-2011 08:39 PM

It's awesome, I think they should get Austin in that Cole Vs King match.

Jeritron 03-07-2011 08:42 PM

It's a fine card. Again, it's time to accept that not every card is going to be filled with dream matches anymore.
We've been spoiled from 17 onwards. They're building new stars and a new generation. If we want to ever see dream matches and supercards again, it has to be accepted that they are committing to booking new stars.

Look at Wrestlemania cards prior to 17. They reflected the current product, and weren't nostalgia-fests.

Jeritron 03-07-2011 08:43 PM

I'd like if Christian was involved in the Edge/Del Rio match somehow, and replace him with Diesel in the Corre match.

Also, I like the return of Trish. I'd probably more enjoy it if it were just Morrison and Trish against Ziggler and one diva though.

HUGE thumbs up for the prospect of a Sheamus/Danielson US Title Match. That will likely be great. If they plan to give it some time, I look forward to it more than any match.

I'm also pleased with the big matches

Jordan 03-07-2011 08:45 PM

Sounds great to me

Jeritron 03-07-2011 08:50 PM

I just think fans need to accept that the post-boom period Wrestlemanias that are absolutely stacked and feature tons of legends weren't going to last forever.

Someday, it could happen again if new talents are able to claim a Wrestlemania legacy of their own. But they need to get the ball if they're ever going to do that.

Team Sheep 03-07-2011 08:54 PM

The Morrison/Ziggler match is a bit stupid but other than that, I'm excited.

Asmo 03-07-2011 09:03 PM

Stoked for Daniel Bryan/Sheamus. It works as an opener, and given 15 minutes, a beautiful match. I'm also interested in how the Bellas get Sheamus on their side. Will Sheamus make a Bella/Fella joke?

Rhodes/Mysterio should be decent. Corre/Team SD! sounds like filler, but with most of them hitting their big spots.

JoMo, KellyX2, Trish/Dolph, LayCool would mean a Trish/JoMo double matrix? I'm interested in this purely because of JoMo.

Lawler/Cole should be a fun encounter.

Orton/Punk should get enough time for an intense match with close pinfalls, and the works. I'm rooting for this as match of the night.

Del Rio/Edge needs to end with a Del Rio win. (and i'm interested in Del Rio's entrance)

Miz/Cena with a little bit of the Rock. Sweet, though only because of the Rock.

Undertaker/HHH. Not expecting greatness here. I mean, it will be a decent match, but doesn't quite hold my interest.

Londoner 03-07-2011 09:09 PM

I like it. Should be a great show.

teamXtremist 03-07-2011 09:21 PM

the core in sweet

thedamndest 03-07-2011 09:26 PM

I would rather have Morrison v. Ziggler and then a separate diva match with the ladies mentioned. Rest of the card is pretty good.

Fox 03-07-2011 09:45 PM

I guess the card isn't all that bad. I'm just a bit disappointed because I feel like it could've been better. Some of the "fantasy cards" that were posted in previous threads were far better and weren't out of the question as far as booking and logic goes.

I also don't like the idea that Triple H/Undertaker is most likely going to headline.

Evil Vito 03-07-2011 11:28 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Most of those matches should be very good. However, my decision on whether or not to buy the PPV will be based on the booking and whether or not the matches feel predictable by the time the show comes around.</font>

Snowden 03-07-2011 11:33 PM

I'm not "feeling" the build for HHH/Undertaker really.

They really should have made it more personal on H's end, rather than have it just be a "challenge." Let HHH be a bit more heelish, maybe even attack 'Taker upon their respective returns. Don't just have HBK be a pre-recorded hype machine, have him get in HHH's face, saying how he doesn't want it to be this way...but HHH is in so deep, he doesn't heed his friend's word.

Not feeling The Corre tag match should have been 4 on 1 or 4 on 2 and have The Corre just destroy Show and if it's 4 on 2 Kane as well.

I swear if team random Smackdown guys who doesn't have anything to do with The Corre get the win grr

Pretty much

To be honest, this is feeling like WrestleMania to me. The only thing I would change is that I would include a Money in the Bank Ladder Match. I feel it adds energy to the shows, and almost makes for a pretty fun match. One of my favourite things about WrestleMania, to be honest, and it'd be great at grabbing attention for some guys.

John Morrison, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, Santino Marella, Ted DiBiase, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre, Christian, Curt Hawkins and Dolph Ziggler. Give them twenty minutes and that'd be a pretty amazing match, in my opinion. Entertaining, to say the least. You can still do the other matches.

The Morrison/Ziggler stuff can fuel the story behind the match. Next week on RAW, you have Morrison hook up with Trish Stratus, getting him MASSIVE face momentum. For The Corre, you just have Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson vs. Big Show & Kane, and possibly have The Corre defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against R-Truth & Johnny Curtis is a random opening match.

But if this stuff with The Corre facing four guys goes down, I hope they have Heath Slater win the Intercontinental Title on SmackDown! over the next few weeks. I like Slater, and think he could use the belt to get over.

I know who I'm picking to win this for tipsters. :p

there is no sense in having a MITB match at Wrestlemania if they are still going to have the MITB PPV..... either ditch the PPV idea, or put the "supposed" 8 or 10 guys that would be in MITB at Mania in an Elimination #1 contender's match of some sort...... maybe even bring back the Scramble Match.....

Wrestlemania Scramble could be the next MITB..... only without the highspots.....

Supreme Olajuwon 03-08-2011 10:33 AM

Ziggler and Morrison in a PPV match together makes my pants a little tingly.

Fox 03-08-2011 11:56 AM

With last night's developments in the HHH/Undertaker match, I have a feeling that they're going to take it to the next level and one of them is going to push it from No Holds Barred to Hell in a Cell.

Wolfpack423 03-08-2011 01:28 PM

To be honest, the card looks good. The only things I would change is putting Christian in the World Title match making it a triple threat as it makes sense and definitely makes that match alot better. I would put Beth Phoenix in Christian's place against the Core. I hope her, Natalya and Eve make the card.

ooTin 03-08-2011 01:40 PM

wow that looks like a big pile of crap.

John Morrison, Kelly Kelly and Trish Stratus vs. Dolph Ziggler, Layla and Michelle McCool - Why? I could see Morrison vs. Ziggler with vicky in the corner but a 6 person, mixed tag match at Mania? Come on that sounds like a Smackdown match. I would truly hate to see this match on the final card.

Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett vs. Big Show, Christian, Kane and Kofi Kingston - Why would Big Show, Christian, Kane and Kofi all team up together to fight the Corre? Kane is a heel.. right? I can never tell. And I guess Kofi is just thrown in there so it will be even? I would like to see Big Show vs. Big Zek. That would be a promotable match. I mean Zek already scoop slammed Show and Show is more than capable of knocking his ass out. Why not? And why are the Tag Team Titles not being defended. Oh maybe because no one wants to see Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel vs. Santio and Kozlof for the 1000th time. Bring in a new tag team... Here off the top of my head. Make Brian lose the US title to Sheamus in the opening bout. RAW GM states that the tag titles will be defended against mystery opponents. Mystery Opponents = Evan Bourn and Daniel Brian. That would be a good match. As far as Christian goes throw him in the mix with Del Rio and Edge for the World title. That would sick.

No divas match because no one cares... unless they give Trish the title, maybe give it some prestige.

MITB - Otunga vs. Morrison vs. Tatsu ( I would really like to see this guy in a decent match. ) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Tyler Reks ( same as tatsu )vs. Awesome Kong ( cant wait for her debut.)

Just some ideas

Jordan 03-08-2011 01:57 PM

In no way is Christian anything more than a facilitator to Alberto del Rio and Edge, he is nowhere near physically or creatively ready to be in a main event at Wrestlemania. Get fucking real. He look like shit last night. I used to like him but he needs to put on some pounds and stop acting so much, he's totally unbelievable in his current condition.

Yeah I can agree with that. It was just a thought off the top of my head.

BollywoodSingh 03-08-2011 09:24 PM

WWE seems like they are gonna make a big deal about Sin Cara so I think it would be a good idea to have his debut match at WrestleMania. Evan Bourne would be a great opponent. I think it would make WrestleMania a little bit more special.
