Unfortunately I didn't watch when JBL became champ. But I still utterly love the APA gimmick he was a part of. And even then he was good in the ring.

Man, I hated the fact that Bradshaw from the APA had won the WWE Title. I soon came to realise that my early evaluation had been incorrect as the character and promo ability of JBL was incredible. Maybe the sudden gimmick change and push was too much too take in too soon.

Yeah, who would have thought that Bradshaw from the APA would be so incredible on the mic?

If anyone should be starring in crappy WWE films, it is JBL:

This rubbed a large amount of fans the wrong way. Apparently for some, it was enough to give up on the product.
Smackdown was struggling, and it needed new stars. I still think they should have gone with someone more established, and allowed the new JBL character to get his feet wet with a lengthier US title reign. A quick, but measurable rise to the top.
Maybe...2 more months? 2 ppvs. Then the title at Summerslam.

Doesn't really matter now. He is quite the character and mic worker.
