TNA has yet another new World Championship Belt

Not as bad as the Hardy one at least.

EHHHH.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-16-2011 05:50 AM

Awful looking. Suits the joke of a company it's in though.

All because they couldn't clean the powder out of the last one.

KIRA 03-16-2011 08:27 AM

Better than that Deception GLAAD rally decoration Hardy had.

erickman 03-16-2011 08:33 AM

yeah it don't look that bad, i thought he was going to use the belt ey had. i forgot what did it look like?

Mr. JL 03-16-2011 08:35 AM

Yeah, I don't see what the problem was with the TNA World belt before Jeff Hardy's.

Londoner 03-16-2011 08:42 AM

There was no need to change it in the first place but thank god they got rid of Jeffs belt. For once they've used some common sense.

Nicky Fives 03-16-2011 08:54 AM

the "TNA" logo should be in red......but I guess that would make too much sense..... better than Jeff Hardy's abortion.....

Theo Dious 03-16-2011 10:11 AM

Kind of "Big Gold Belt" like but not bad.

VSG 03-16-2011 10:14 AM

Dunno why the background is the only thing in gold but looks pretty at this stage. Not bad at all.

dhellova guy 03-16-2011 10:37 AM

Its aight

BigDaddyCool 03-16-2011 10:39 AM

It looks second rate.

Just like TNA then!

Atleast they're honest....

erickman 03-16-2011 10:53 AM

the funny thing is it goes with stings outfit

RiX1024 03-16-2011 10:56 AM

Shiny belt goes with the shiny jacket.

Grablot 03-16-2011 11:48 AM

It looks like someone chewed up a normal looking belt and vomited it out

Nightwing 03-16-2011 12:28 PM

I guess they couldnt use the perfectly fine old belt which is only like 3 years old then?

GD 03-16-2011 12:36 PM

The first design was better.

Anything would be better than the Hardy belt. But yeah, not great, but not terrible. The old title was better.

The MAC 03-16-2011 01:14 PM

it needs red in the tna logo. The style isnt bad but its too bad that this belt would rank under the divas championship.

Haze 03-16-2011 01:18 PM

Would have looked better as a traditional gold plate style, instead of what looks like an attempt at the gotti WWE Championship.

I wonder how much all those cubic zirconium cost for the belt. $50?

DLVH84 03-16-2011 03:31 PM

I say the belt looks great. A lot better than the last piece of shit belt.

Sting looks like the Frankenstrat

thedamndest 03-16-2011 05:17 PM

Looks better than the spinner belt and not as good as the Big Gold Belt.

Which is probably what TNA had in mind, the belt fits with their champion's persona. I figure that was the reasoning behind Austin's, Cena's, and Hardy's custom belts. I think it's definitely a step up from their previous belt, and may even outshine the one EY is seen carrying around.

On that note: when I first saw Sting on impact my thoughts immediately went to Kamen Rider Kiva's Emperor Form, which I don't see as a bad thing, but I think that's due to me being a fan of the series.

The economy of the situation is even more staggering when you find out that the plates are actually chocolate wrapped in foil.

I guess they made this belt just because they "Changed" their logo? Wat.

Emperor Smeat 03-16-2011 06:53 PM

It is a big improvement over the Immortal belt and a bit better than most of the belts TNA has and a few WWE belts. Only problem is how the lack of red or something to fill in the words makes it look like an unfinished etching job.

James Steele 03-16-2011 08:21 PM

I'm not a big fan of the bedazzled sideplates.

CSL 03-16-2011 08:30 PM

It's alright. Something I don't like about it but I can't put my finger on it, kind of cheap looking maybe, not that it matters. The belt they had before the Immortal/Jeff one was head and shoulders the best one they've had but I guess with the Eric Young stuff they couldn't really go back to it. Good old TNA and their future planning.

Yes. Cheap looking. Just generic gold explosion and blah lettering. Likely designed merely to sell replicas to fans. Problem is, if they threw it in a pile of toy replicas, looks like they'd accidentially sell it. It's like something you'd find in the Dollar General toy aisle along with the not-quite Barbie cars and those fake G.I. Joes where you can only move their arms.

Also, I think I put my finger on what's missing... who's the TNA TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION? That's right, people... THERE'S NO NAMEPLATE!!!

Hell, even Taz's FTW belt had a damn nameplate. Hardy's was arguably intentional, since it's "his" belt, but this...?

However, it seems there is a slight method to the madness. If they popped this belt out before, everyone would be like "yuck, this sucks". Now, it's all "at least it's better than Hardy's".

RVDmark 03-17-2011 01:10 PM

Its a belt, it looks ok, and it takes some association with Jeff away given the old belt was his. Is this a Sting belt or just the belt?

parkmania 03-17-2011 05:20 PM

We'll find that out once Sting loses the belt and drops out of the title scene.

Jeritron 03-17-2011 05:28 PM

I can put my finger on what I don't like about it.

- It's too small.
- The faceplate design and coloration just looks like plastic.
- The leather area surrounding the faceplate, just seems too wide and something is odd about the large stitching.

The combination of those three things just makes it look really cheap and toy-like.
It's not awful, but it's not a world title of a "major" promotion. I don't know what was wrong with the one before Jeff's.
That one was pretty damn good. I liked it a lot aside from the size. If they wanted to get a new belt, they should have just brought back the exact same one and scaled it up a bit.

mhirn3 03-17-2011 07:51 PM

Who is the bullfighter fellow holding it in the top picture? I don't follow bullfighting.
