Could the Headbangers have gone further?

One of the very few Russo worked shoots that worked. You can say that The Headbangers had a solid career but do you think they could have been bigger as a tag tem or even as singles compeditors? I liked the "Real men wear skirts" shirts they had, but I they kinda got "outshined" by the other tag teams the WWE had at that time. It's hard to stand out when you have tag teams like LOD 2000, the New Age Outlaws, The Acolytes, Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz |
I always felt like the WWE missed the boat on re-signing The Headbangers in 2006.
Why 2006? It was the year that the Highlanders debuted on RAW, which seemed to be heading into an Attitude era-like direction, with D-Generation X reuniting, Jeff Hardy returning, and Kane teasing the mask returning. Should've replaced the Highlanders with the Headbangers instead. Imagine RAW in 2006 with DX, Edge, Headbangers vs. Spirit Squad feud, Hardy vs. Nitro feud, John Cena, and Masked Kane all on one show. |
I liked them.... they had the gimmick and were solid in the ring.....in retrospect, they should have had a bigger role......
|
Thrasher was a bit shit but I actually liked Mosh for some reason, especially the smiley face boxers jobbery sunday night heat version of Chaz. With that said they shouldn't really have been any bigger than they were, they were lucky to get the tag titles at all considering the talent around them at that time.
|
Sick team, but if they didn't split then we wouldn't have had HOF team 'Lo Down' w/ Tiger Ali Singh.
|
I think they had a good run and did what they could, their gimmick were limiting.
|
The headbangers were the man.
|
Fuck the Headbangers. I saw them at an indy show a long while back and waited with some friends for an hour and a half to get an autograph for their kid brother. They just laughed at him and walked away. Jabroni bastards should have been so thrilled someone asked for their autograph, they should have blown us on the spot. I'm glad they're dead.
Huh? They aren't dead? Well...fuck em just the same. |
DUde you are a fucking loser of you waited more than 22 seconds for a Headbangers autograph.
Did you camp out for three days to buy tickets to a card headlined by Man Mountain Rock? |

I don't lament the fact that I hung out for a while. I was a teenager, what did I have to do with my time other than bullshit with my friends? I rage on the fact they laughed at a 10 year old and split. |
MASTURBATION!

Maybe they found it funny someone wanted their autographs?
|
They must have thought you were fucking with them.
|
I hope his kid brother got Aids.

would have loved to see this.
|
Yeah, they probably thought you were ribbing them.
|
Nah they were lucky to be pushed as hard as they were Lo Down on the other hand should have been before they joined up with Tiger Ali Singh rather than being jobbers.

Who?

:y: Don't understand why they never got any kind of push. They weren't doing anything in singles, sort of came together in that NAO kind of way, had decent ring chemestry, and put on pretty solid matches. Even had ok crowd reactions til they got jobbed to high hell. Then again, D'Lo has been cursed ever since dropping the "chest protector" gimmick that Cody Rhodes is somewhat recycling. |

So thanks, Headbangers. You gave my friend's brother a crippling drug addiction. All because you didn't sign an autograph for him. |
The Headbangers were a fun team and I believe 2 time tag champs. Not sure what more you expected from them. Espcially after the Hardyz, E&C, The Acolytes and the Dudleyz came around they were kinda dead in the water.
|
Fuck no
|
Well at least they had a run as the tag team champions of the universe!
|
Head Cheese > Headbangers
What's that tell you? |
Loved the Headbangers, but cant really see what else they could have done.
Also they had an awesome theme. |

Decent team, nothing special, always seen Mosh as a better worker than Thrasher.
|
Doug Furnas and Phillip Lafon should have gone further.
|
Agreed, nice chemistry, great work ethic, Furnas and LaFon would of deserved a run with the tag belts.
