In all seriousness, does this mean Cena is guaranteed not to win the Royal Rumble to face the Champion in the opening match at WrestleMania? And does it mean he absolutely won't be champion at WrestleMania? I mean, they wouldn't blow a Mania title defense on The Rock, would they? Considering Cena is one of their biggest championship candidates, this is actually kind of huge if it guarantees Cena to be strapless and unable to chase the title on the Road to WrestleMania.

Cena goes down with another injury. He's had them pretty regularly over the past few years.


Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Cena go into Mania holding the WWE or World Heavyweight title belts. I know the match doesn't "need" it, but it would add a bit of intrigue to the match where The Rock could potentially come in and not only beat Cena but fly back to Hollywood with his WWE Title, too.

The Rock and John Cena fall in love over the next month or two after working tirelessly together and after one long workout session they end up snuggling in a barn.

Over the coming months they drive to the arenas together, The Rock leaves his movie life behind so he can be with the WWE full time in order to stay with Cena. They enter and exit arenas with their arms linked until...

The Rock starts to notice John and Orlando getting a lot closer, they remember their days working together on Smackdown fondly and a spark ignites.

Cena leaves The Rock for Orlando Jordan and thus The Rock refuses to have anything to do with either wrestler from this point on and enters a revenge relationship with Pat Patterson. They bring back the Corporation together and the main event of Wrestlemania gets changed to The Rock and The Mean Street Posse vs The Corre

I would assume the match probably won't be for the title, but that doesn't mean they won't still entertain that possibiliity and have Cena, and maybe even Rock, be a major part of the Royal Rumble and/or World title picture heading into Wrestlemania next year.

I assume the match will be slated, but factors around it will still be "up in the air."

I think they should take the oppurtunity to make the Royal Rumble for the title again anyways.

I agree, they'll probably tease it. Maybe even have Rock cheer Cena on to win the title at Elimination Chamber so that he can fight for the title. But as for the Rumble, say for example Miz is WWE champion around Mania time next year. Cena wins the Rumble. Now he gets to face Miz for the title at Mania. Would that mean Cena has two main event matches at Mania? One against Rock, and one against Miz? Or does it mean the Cena/Rock match is now a triple threat with Miz defending the title against both?

Having Cena's WrestleMania match spelled out before the Road to WrestleMania is anywhere close to beginning kind of throws a wrench into the plans of what to do with him during that time period because we're practically guaranteed that he can't be champion or number 1 contender come Mania. If anything, at least it means Super Cena won't be coming off with all the big wins leading up to Mania.

There is a sure fire way to make it better, Turn Cena Heel while you have the chance WWE.

Mainly the writing staff, as they dont think that far in advance. Or my suggestion of hollywood actually liking one of Cena's movies and wanting him to do more.

The build. A slow, pondering build without any fresh angle to it will kill this match. Though either man's promos might entertain you, it shouldn't get stuck to name-calling, or puns. Have Cena or the Rock ambush each other, throw it in to the mainstream with the Rock being attacked by Cena at a movie event, yadda-yadda. Build this thing beyond what we've already seen.
