There is backstage heat on both John Morrison and Melina, reports Pro Wrestling Torch. It centers around the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII, which saw Morrison repeatedly brush partner Trish Stratus off.

During their post-match celebration, Stratus hugged Snooki and went to hug Morrison, but he had already turned his back on her. Morrison then led Snooki to the corner of the ring and used the Jersey Shore star as a shield, to guard himself from Stratus.

The backstory behind Morrison's awkward body language is that either he or Melina, his girlfriend, felt Stratus took her spot in the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII. The backstage belief is that he either holds Stratus in contempt for taking Melina's spot on the card, or had to portray himself as such so that she would believe he was rude to her.

Behind the scenes, Morrison rejected various ideas Stratus had for their match at WrestleMania XXVII, and was said to be very difficult to work with. His outright refusal to comply with any of her suggestions reportedly hurt her feelings. Word quickly spread amongst the locker room, garnering heat.

Many feel Morrison's unprofessional behavior will set back his standing in WWE since Stratus is highly regarded amongst company personnel.

While Morrison is considered a nice guy, he's not greatly respected amongst his peers. This dates back several years due to his real-life relationship with Melina. Particularly, he lost a lot of respect for allowing Melina to engage in a sexual relationship with former WWE talent Dave Bautista (a/k/a Batista) while the two were dating. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion made no qualms of being intimately involved with Melina in his 2007 autobiography, Batista Unleashed. He wrote:

"My wife thought I was sleeping with Melina right off the bat, while we were still married. It wasn't true, but it did make me feel guilty about being friends with her.

"Since then, as I've said, Melina and I have gotten closer and our relationship has become physical. That's caused a bit of controversy, but I don't give a shit. She's my friend, and I love her very much."

Former WWE stars Paul London and Brian Kendrick alleged numerous behind the scenes stories involving Melina and Morrison in their 2010 "shoot" interview, Brian Kendrick & Paul London's Excellent Adventure. London stated that Morrison is 'spineless' because he repeatedly permitted Melina to engage in sexual activity with outside partners while the two were dating. He added that Morrison would accompany Melina on dates with her partner of choice. Kendrick also claimed that he himself had been intimate with Melina.

Never liked Melina, and I am starting to like Morrison even less..... Trish is a motherfucking Legend and Melina should be kissing her ass......

Wait... maybe I missed this part, but what did Melina have to do with LayCool or Vickie or Ziggler that wpuld have had her in a spot in the six man match? What about the other divas?

And Trish is promoting Tough Enough... . I don't get it.

To be fair, they could have involved Trish in a different way (announcer, referee, trainer/manager, commentator) and included another Diva in the match itself (be it Melina or anyone else.) I have a feeling if this were an all-male match and two of three spots on one side were taken by a reality show actor and someone who retired several years ago, there would have been more than a bit of a stink about it.

But the fact is that the Divas don't matter and 99% of them are replaceable, Melina included.

Every time Morrison is about to lose a match for the next three months Batista should randomly intervene but be unable to be reached for comments. Then before a MITB match Morrison can explain the deal he struck and how after he lets Batista fuck her ass tonight he's going to win MITB and become the next world champion.

We're all of course accepting this under the notion that the WWE had actually planned something like a piss break six-person match well in-advance.

Well Morrison would be a very effective heel with Melina in his corner, that aside if he keeps this up as well as not living up to his HBK shadow people have cast over him, I could see him peacing out before the end of the year. If you go way back to the begining there is a Tough Enough audition with Morrison where he just flip flops and JR asks him to do a spinaroonie and he's like "A what"? Cut to Kevin Dunn "I don't like him".

I don't think he's gonna stay forever, or make it like people want. Flip flops are cool in the sand, go to Orlando.

Morrison should go to his inner young HBK, take on an unnactractive female valet and use her as his mouthpiece and to get heat in the ring like shawn did with sherri. That and what would really get him over is holding back in his matches, not using his moves saying the fans dont deserve his great parcore or whatever it is. he worked better as a heel

Melina and Morrison are our Candido and Sunny. Let's appreciate them for that guys. I wonder who else hit that. Her and Mick were pretty close. I bet he could do a lot with his tongue and that gap in his teeth.

Truth be told, Morrison just isn't 'one of the guys' backstage and that tends to rub people the wrong way. It's stupid but I tend to think that's one of the things that's hamstrung his career. That and his inability to cut tremendous promos.

Comparing Melina to Sunny is an outrage.....

I think his inability to cut a promo that makes people give a damn about his character is what has hurt him more than anything else.

If Vince saw money in Morrison he'd be pushed. Warrior wasn't one of the guys either, but he got pushed to the moon. Hell, Vince would probably prefer it if the locker room wasn't buddy, buddy, it's easier to divide and conquer that way.

Yeah, unless Melina's capable of the Greatest Orgasm Ever (capitalized for full effect) it's wisest to play ball, especially at WrestleMania. Then again, if he's just content being a performer with a hot girlfriend (Greatest Orgasm Ever notwithstanding) more power to him.

It'd be a shame if he's content with that. The guy has so much potential

What a lot of people tend to forget, though, is that these people get into the business simply because they love it, not necessarily to be the top dog. If that means sacrificing normal lives for the chance, they'll do it. Here, Morrison is essentially getting to have his cake and eat it, too. He's still useful enough to the WWE's upper mid-card and he gets to have his girlfriend along for the ride. Don't get me wrong, he should be making some sort of strides to ensure his tenure gets extended but if he can still be viewed as an asset for the remainder of his career, it's all the better for Morrison.
