Xbox LIVE Disc Update program
 

Package and letter came in the mail today saying I got accepted into the Xbox Live beta program for the upcoming disc update. I got Halo Reach and a free Xbox Live Gold subscription that lasts until the program ends.

It also came with a document that says all the stuff I'm supposed to do and things I can't do with the program (ex. giving away the beta disc).

Anyone else get accepted to the Live beta program or the other two programs Microsoft is offering for testing?

M$ is actually lax about things I certainly wouldn't be (free XBLA game trick, etc).

What's the program about?

New copy protection that also allows an extra 1gb free on the disc.

Oh yeah, heard about that. Didn't it theoretically get bypassed already or something like that?

Also the Beta Dash is flashing new firmware on drives, sneaky Microsoft.

Not yet last I checked.

A hacker managed to figure out how it might work and how its just an updated version of the current protection but didn't actually crack it. Microsoft didn't send the firmware or discs with the update out when that person made the assumption.

Don't know how many of know/actually care, but c4eva cracked it already.
