Do you see one of the "Big Four" PPV's being held elsewhere?
I've wanted the WWE to do a PPV outside of the US for years ala Summerslam 92 in London. I doubt that Wrestlemania would ever leave the states (except for Canada) but I'd love it if they held the other 4 in other countries
|
Definitely. We use to get those lame Rebellion/Insurrection ones in the UK, but nothing significant ever happened, they were more like glorified house shows.
Obviously Wrestlemania wouldn't happen outside of the US/Canada due to time zones etc, but I'd definitely love to see another Summerslam at Wembley Stadium, or something along those longs. |
Unfortunately for UK fans, the only way I see a PPV being held overseas id if it is held on a Saturday evening, then aired at it's normal time in North AMerica on PPV over tape delay.....

They were still good to watch though, but you just knew that the titles weren't going to change hands at Rebellion or Insurrextion. The only title that did was the Hardcore Championship, but whoever came to the UK as champion, always regained the title before they returned to the states. :-\ But I would love to attend a PPV here in the UK. Though I remember watching an interview with Vince and he got asked about staging a PPV outside North America again and he said he didn't think it would be possible due to time differences, and that the only reason SummerSlam 92 worked was because it was taped and he doesn't want to do that again. |

The last good UK PPV was One Night Only in 97
|
Wasn't that the first one?
|
I can't see them ever doing a PPV outside of the Americas. The time difference fucks everything up. I'm sure a PPV wouldn't air in the US on an afternoon, they'd lose out on a lot by sacrificing a prime time slot. And I can hardly see WWE taking the risk of having a wrestling show from 1-4 am.
|
I liked watching the UK PPV's on tape, I like the feel of the foreign audience, so excited that WWE is there. Can't wait for Raw in Mexico.
|
what time did ss92 air on ppv in the states? and what time was it held in england? 500 cool points for whoever can research this im too tired
|
Team Sheep mentioned similar ideas... but yeah they will be taping their first RAW and Smackdown! TVs in Mexico this year.
That opens the door for a future Pay Per View there, although thats still in North/Central America. |

If Vinnie wants to make it a real Global force he should hold real events in other continents. I just think that having the Royal Rumble in England would be bitchin

It'll never happen again. |
Exactly, WWE, TNA, or whoever will never have the edge again of surprising people, because somehow someway things get leaked, and we'll know about it in 5 minutes.
Example : Royal Rumble this year, huge surprise entrant...oh wait that's right we had the video of Nash showing up in Boston the day before and him talking about being in the Rumble with his jet black hair/beard. So the shock value went down, though it was a cool moment, it could've been bigger and we all know that here. That's why it won't work overseas, we'll get vids on youtube or where ever, plus spoilers so we can decide if we want to watch it or not, then on top of that you have the Justintv streamers and PW Torrents that would probably have it up before it his the US. |

Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, and Dolph Ziggler w. Vicky vs Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, and John Morrison would be a pretty sick Raw main event in Mexico. |

I would hope Rey at least would Main Event in Mexico, and Cara have the match before, but knowing WWE, I've got the feeling that they're gonna blow this opportunity big time.
|
A problem to me seems to be that WWE isn't very popular in England at the moment, the ratings seems that way anyway.

So pick your window. |

If Rey and Cara did a mask vs mask match, that might get some revenue in the PPV/Ticket sales.
|
Also I think an idea of doing a huge supershow in another country like Australia or Brazil (once the ratings seems good) or even England, with big time PPV matches and titles changes etc... then hype it for a week on Raw and Smackdown and air it for the world to see on PPV at a slightly reduced price.
