Hey, remember when Johnny Curtis won Season 4 of NXT....

.....And was meant to get a "Tag Team Title Opportunity" with his Pro R-Truth.

Yeah.......

Supreme Olajuwon 04-15-2011 12:46 AM

I can't say I remember any of this. Pretty outrageous though, if true.

Storer50 04-15-2011 12:47 AM

who?

Volare 04-15-2011 12:58 AM

Oh yeah, I was wondering what the hell happened to that guy. Brodus Clay was in WM and didn't even win the fucking thing.

Lock Jaw 04-15-2011 01:05 AM

He was in the dark match battle royale at Wrestlemania.

Really, though, anything that happens on NXT (including the winners) doesn't mean anything on RAW or Smackdown.

Volare 04-15-2011 01:09 AM

Dark Match don't mean crap, millions around the world don't probably know who the hell he is. Brodus on the other hand could have people around the world going "Damn who the fuck is that guy? He's Huge!" Plus add a nice little shock value for non followers of WWE.

Asmo 04-15-2011 01:15 AM

Doesn't ring a bell!

Shadrick 04-15-2011 01:20 AM

I don't remember this.

Yes, and I'm sure the WWE wishes him well in his future endeavors.

Yeah.......

I also remember a certain Diva who a season of NXT by the name of Caitlyn, and yeah was supposed to go to Smackdown, and YEAH........that never happened. I consider her on the list of ppl to either be sent to developmental and released or just being outright released during Spring Cleaning. Either way it seems alot of the winners of NXT fade into obscurity. 3 of them have now being Kaval who asked for his release after sitting on a winless streak for god knows how long after jobbing to Drew McIntyre for a month straight, Caitlyn who never saw TV again after NXT ended, and now Johnny Curtis who I still don't even know why won NXT season 4 when Brodus Clay or Byron Saxton was an obviously better choice.

I think NXT is just meant to see how well you can mix into the mainstream production and make a final decision for management on whether or not you could hack it full time on the mainstream roster and be able to be a ratings draw and successfully develop your character and have fans interested in you carrying a story in and out of the ring.

She's had a few jobber matches on Smackdown, and some random backstage "here I am standing around" stuff.

SlickyTrickyDamon 04-15-2011 03:45 AM

At least Kaitlynn showed a little bit of a personality. The only reason Johnny Curtis won was because the tag team champions are heels (The Corre.)

It's obvious that Brodus Clay and Derrick Bateman were the break out stars of that season. Brodus is doing great as Del Rios' heavy and Bateman is back working on his game in FCW. Johnny Curtis guy should have been eliminated first from NXT last season. To show how forgettable he was I had to look up at my first paragraphs each time I said his name because I couldn't remember it.

Brodus Clay was the real winner of NXT Season.....four? Yeah four. I just hope he comes down to the ring with the Doomship song once.

Rock Bottom 04-15-2011 06:14 AM

I'm sure when R Truth will have his tag matches with him after he squashes Miz and Cena and picks up that stupid WWE title first.

Tazz Dan 04-15-2011 08:22 AM

Remember when Cryme Tyme won that match to be Number one contenders? That went well also.

Tazz Dan 04-15-2011 08:23 AM

I'm seeing a trend here with Black Men. Hmmm........

Providence Peep 04-15-2011 09:49 AM

Remember when "Mean" Gene Okerlund recorded a cover of Rick Derringer's song, "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo" for The Wrestling Album? Oh wait, that was 1985. Most of you here weren't even born yet. Nevermind.

Volare 04-15-2011 09:57 AM

I was sir. Born in 83. And yes, I have the album.

Remember when Kaval won NXT season 2... and was slowly jobbed out and then was released?

JimmyMess 04-15-2011 11:05 AM

I recall reading that, but I don't watch NXT. Which brings me to this question for all you cats. Is NXT all a ruse? I mean do they know who wins it before they go out there, as they script RAW/Smackdown? So that the "winner" of the first season is just the guy they told would win at the start of the "season"?

Did they go to FCW and pick their 7 or 6 or whatever the number is brightest talents to put them on this fake contest?

Being that tough enough is back, its kind of anti-climactic to have two of these type "winner gets a ______" contest shows, although they serve different purposes.

HELP A BROTHER OUT!

Droford 04-15-2011 11:56 AM

Remember when Daniel Puder nearly snapped Angle's Arm and then won the Smackdown Tough Enough..?

yeah..whatever happened to him?

MoFo 04-15-2011 12:53 PM

Hey remember Mike Mizanin from Tough Enough?

Didn't they get a title shot at Jerishow at Summerslam or something? Good match, if I recall correctly.

Tazz Dan 04-15-2011 05:25 PM

Yeah, that was when they came back after being released. Which was at least a year after they number 1 contender match

BizarroKing 04-15-2011 06:25 PM

Remember when Kaitlyn won nXt season 3 and was supposed to get a Divas Championship match?

Remember when Providence Pete didn't remember to delete this awful post?

Johnny Curtis shouldn't get his tag title shot, mainly because he hasn't even been on TV, barely anyone watches NXT and nobody cares about tag teams.

Corndad 04-15-2011 07:41 PM

That match should have happened like the week right after NXT was over. Have them lose and send him down if you don't think he's ready. It makes the whole reward for NXT non existent.

I can see Kaitlyn getting send down after because really none of those girls were ready so no matter who won they wouldn't have been on TV anyways.

Gertner 04-15-2011 07:45 PM

Remember when Wade Barrett was supposed to get his own theme music.

JimmyMess 04-15-2011 08:10 PM

A.J., Naomi, Aksana, or Maxine could have easily been ready for TV.

If you look inside you will find the truth. If Supreme can, I have faith in anyone.

parkmania 04-15-2011 11:46 PM

Here's hoping Johnny Curtis reunites with his "long lost uncle" Johnny Swinger.

Gertner 04-16-2011 01:32 AM

Remember when George Hackenschmidt beat Frank Gotch in 1911?

Evil Vito 04-16-2011 02:17 AM

<font color=goldenrod>Johnny Curtis was seen coming out to applaud Edge with the rest of the roster after SmackDown.

Pretty sad that that's the only thing he's done in front of WWE cameras since winning NXT.</font>
