Did I miss the announcement that SummerSlam was officially LA excusive?
 

I just noticed that this year will mark the third consecutive year that SummerSlam will take place at The Staples Center in Los Angeles. That can't be coincidental. Was there some kind of a deal struck that I missed seeing or something?

They were originally going to host it in New York this year, but they're renovating the Garden this summer (and next, apparently), so they moved it back to LA and put Survivor Series in the Garden.

They like the press and buzz that they get in a city like LA, so I wouldn't be surprised if they keep it in LA or alternate between New York and LA and keep it exclusive to those locations.

I don't think there's any deal, they just love having it there. It's the perfect location for WWE and with the introduction of travel packages this year I doubt they'll stop having Summerslam there for years to come.

Hmm. SummerSlam already has it's personality as "The WrestleMania of the Summer" basically. I think the idea of having a yearly "WWE goes Hollywood" style PPV is a great idea. It should be one of the shitty ones though. Re-name Over the Limit something Hollywood related. Instantly distinguishable PPV without the forced gimmick matches and they get that Hollywood press Vince loves so much.

As long as WrestleMania XXX is in the Garden, I'll be happy.

I'm not counting on it.

I'm thinking it probably will be. It's become a tradition and holding it in the world's most famous arena hardly strays from Vince's need for mainstream acceptance.

WMXXX had better feature some nudity (preferably female) regardless of where it's held!

...WM1, WM10, WM20 have all been at MSG, so...it's only natural that WM30 will be at the Garden as well...and that's the way it should be.

MSG just adds a certain "feel" to the event, a flavor that no other place can.

...Right. And since Miami has WM28, Los Angeles is the logical next option...it's a big city, perhaps the Entertainment capital of the world...and since that's the route WWE is taking (the Entertainment route), my guess is we should get ready to see Summerslam being held there every year...

...It's not like they should hold Summerslam in Wisconsin...

And it also IS a beach city. Best of both worlds. I guess it is pretty perfect.

They said in the Wrestlemania documentary that this is the plan.

Also said that they are only using stadiums from now on for Wrestlemania, except for MSG.
