LOL. Seriously?

whiteyford 04-25-2011 01:52 PM

getting that for sure,

NormanSmiley 04-25-2011 02:01 PM

the best of nitro includes the fingerpoke of doom??? why didnt they just call this rise and fall of wcw continued. same ol shit. aside from ddp and jerichos 1004 holds this is too much hogan

Gertner 04-25-2011 02:03 PM

Well Hogan was pretty much the focus of the company from 1996 till 2001

Supreme Olajuwon 04-25-2011 02:09 PM

Lot of Luger matches. Eww.

Props for including the DDP/Mark Starr match though. The night DDP became a superstar.

Too easy.

Rammsteinmad 04-25-2011 03:08 PM

Looks awesome, and I'll get it eventually, but I can't help but feel it'll pretty much be the majority of the same clips we've already seen in other releases (ie. Rise and Fall, Monday Night War, Superstar DVDs etc).

RiX1024 04-25-2011 04:15 PM

a must buy for me.

Wolfpack423 04-25-2011 04:24 PM

Looks very solid to me. Of course Benoit and Malenko teaming up won't be on there, but I like the listing. The only thing I wish they had put on that they didn't was the Nitro when Sting joined the Wolfpack, but of course that's only a personal preference of mine. That or the one where nWo Black and White offered Sting a t-shirt and then it faded to black.

Cuse8 04-25-2011 04:26 PM

is that goldberg/hart match the match where he gave bret the concussion?

Triple Naitch 04-25-2011 04:45 PM

http://www.prowrestlingscoops.com/ne...dvdcover/1.jpg

Love how they have 3 TNA guys on there because they can.

Seth82 04-25-2011 04:51 PM

I count 4 actually

Hogan, Bischoff, Sting and Flair

Triple Naitch 04-25-2011 05:04 PM

Forgot about Bisch. U right.

No. This was the Nitro after Starrcade when the NWO reformed.

Rammsteinmad 04-25-2011 05:33 PM

That cover is pretty cool. Lol at DDP as well.

Do you think if this sells well they'd do a 'Best of Thunder' as well?

Emperor Smeat 04-25-2011 05:52 PM

 at the 3rd disc being considered a "best" since that is the downfall disc but a good selection of matches.

I doubt it because WCW rarely treated their second show as good or with importance as Vince did with Smackdown.

The Rise and Fall of WCW book has a lot of jokes and instances of how badly managed Thunder was and how it made Nitro look much better in comparison.

Cool King 04-25-2011 06:01 PM

I might actually get this.

I was always a devout WWF guy back in the day and I stayed away from WCW, so I did miss a lot of great stuff from WCW.

I do regret not watching WCW when it was alive, then again I was about eight years old at the time, so what did I know?

Dorkchop 04-25-2011 08:11 PM

I'll definitely get this. Obviously there are better matches to put on the DVD... and even ones that are more special, but it looks great. I'm surprised they didn't find a way to get HHH on the cover. Maybe part of his contract won't allow to appear on 2 DVD covers and they chose this one.

PorkSoda 04-25-2011 08:36 PM

Whens this coming out?

It looks great.

JimmyMess 04-25-2011 08:38 PM

So this is just straight matches?

Because I'd love to hear more interviews from some of the recently re-signed WCW guys (Booker, Nash)

DLVH84 04-25-2011 08:44 PM

That's a pretty good list of matches/segments.

Gertner 04-25-2011 09:04 PM

Here I'm gonna be a nit picking IWC douchebag : The picture of the NWO is not from WCW. It's from their 2002 WWE run. I honest to God read people bitching about that on the site where I get the match listing from.

DaveBrawl 04-25-2011 09:06 PM

Definately getting this. I always loved Nitro.

Shisen Kopf 04-25-2011 10:57 PM

No Benoit? Lame, I mean he was slightly above average and they just act like he never existed because he may have overreacted just a little that one night?

Sometimes a man needs to kill a bitch.

Fox 04-26-2011 04:36 AM

And a little kid...

Fox 04-26-2011 04:37 AM

Glad they included the Booker T/Lance Storm WCW Title match. One of my favorites of Booker T's token-WCW Champion reign.

Hulk-a-Bo 04-26-2011 05:56 AM

can't wait, nitro back in the day when it was kicking vince's butt was one of the best shows ever

Shisen Kopf 04-26-2011 09:36 PM

Where the hell is El Dandy? And who are you to doubt El Dandy?

Gertner 04-26-2011 09:53 PM

Bret Hart doubted him right from the DVD

The Jayman 06-09-2011 09:28 AM

Gonna pick this up tomorrow

kareru 06-09-2011 10:28 AM

great dvd set i'm up to disk 2

i marked out when DDP gave himself a self high five

also you forget how awesome wrestling was back during the great monday night war, it makes anything today look like shitspread on toast, and that's not the nostalgia talking

Shisen Kopf 06-09-2011 12:23 PM

Where the hell is El Dandy? Fuck this who the hell is the WWE to doubt El Dandy?

Jaded-Dragon 06-09-2011 09:47 PM

It's a decent set. Watching it though, it felt like the story of the nWo for quite a while.

They could of had some more DDP, Booker, Jericho, Malenko, Benoit (oh I forgot he never existed), some more of the cruiser weights, some Raven, etc.

It begs to have a Volume 2.

And how do they have the Four Horsemen parody but not the actual segment it was based on?

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-10-2011 12:26 AM

When is it on netflix streaming?

For that matter, where the hell is Disco Inferno?!

AKin3D 06-10-2011 04:03 AM

Got it and I was very pleased with it. It felt very Nitro. You had your few other guys getting there matches tossed in and then back to nWo vs WCW (top stars). Still it flowed well.

The only down side to this video, is it's not really for anyone who never watched WCW. Like I had to tell my Hubby the whole story over what was so important about the Juventud Guerrera vs. Billy Kidman match.

And hopefully we'll get that Volume 2.

one last thing....

3 COUNT!!!!!! *Screams, cries & Sings*

Gertner 06-10-2011 12:47 PM

We like the Backstreet Boyz, N Sync too, Britney Spears is kinda cute
We watch TRL on MTV
Everybody 3 Count 1 2 3
One...Two... Threeeeeeeee!

thewholefnshow 06-10-2011 08:15 PM

I kinda wish the DDP/Raven feud was on the set.Seemed like that was one of the longest feuds in wcw besides the nwo vs wcw.
