I would add to what's already been said here: WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006. By FAR, the best SvR (that is since the series became SvR, I'm not including the original 5 WWF/WWE SD! games) gaming experience on PS2.

Rammsteinmad 05-02-2011 04:36 PM

Spider-Man 2

Suikoden V is great.
The Megaman collections are worth picking up too.

Also, since it's backwards compatible, there are some great RPGs on PS1 as well.

DAMN iNATOR 05-02-2011 07:11 PM

Also, Killer7 was pretty decent.

Ultra Mantis 05-02-2011 07:32 PM

You only really need Vice City and San Andreas for ps2. add medal of honour, for me best FPS on ps2

OssMan 05-03-2011 11:38 PM

you could not be more wrong

like i said "For me" it was the best, didnt jump on the cod bandwagon until a few months ago

OssMan 05-04-2011 12:41 PM

you also said the only games you need on PS2 are two grand theft auto games, while there are not only better games than those for the system, but there are grand theft auto games on other consoles too and they're all very similar

Matt Gingarac 05-04-2011 01:35 PM

yh no doubt there a lot similar but those 2 stood out the most when i played them.

You only need two games that are incredibly similar? If you're going to disregard every other great game on the system surely you could have narrowed that down to just San Andreas.

i know there are a lot more games that are equally as good or better than gta. i was just saying that the games that i played on my ps2, people would play them. Most of the posters on here aint going to rave at Brian Lara Cricket am they?

Ermaximus 05-05-2011 11:32 AM

Dark Cloud 2 is pretty good too. The first 1, not so much.

DAMN iNATOR 05-05-2011 11:47 AM

Can't believe I forgot this till just now but XIII was an awesome, criminally overlooked by consumers, game on PS2. Would def. welcome a sequel...who cares what the sales were like for the "first" (since no sequel has been announced) game?

OssMan 05-05-2011 12:09 PM

Ya I had that on Gamecube. Never got past this part where you had to swim through a sewer?

XCaliber 05-05-2011 12:17 PM

May not be PS exclusive but if you like platformers I highly suggest POP: The Sands of Time and it's sequels Warrior Within and The Two Thrones.

The developer and publisher, for two. Why should they put money into a franchise that didn't sell?

DAMN iNATOR 05-05-2011 12:36 PM

I get your point but it still sucks to see it just die off without a proper way to tie up all the loose ends. If you'll remember it ended with a hell of a cliffhanger.

So, I dunno...maybe so they can tidy all that up...oh well, a man can dream can't he? :(

Emperor Smeat 05-05-2011 04:37 PM

The problem was making the game into a series before the public had a chance to decide if the first game was even good to begin with.

Too Human did the same thing and the bad sales for the first game almost killed off Silicon Knights as a studio. The worst part is the studio still wants to make it as a trilogy but probably won't get the money needed by their current publisher to do it.

Smeg Head 05-05-2011 05:37 PM

Manhunt

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Scarface: The World Is Yours

Jaws: Unleashed (SO WHAT I LIKED IT ;))
