Enough already...
Ok, if this is posted elsewhere, I apologize and feel free to move this or delete or whatever. Anyway, what the hell is the point of still having an anonymous GM on Raw? The whole point is because Bret Hart got beat up and Nexus was destroying everyone. Well, Nexus is obviously not a threat to the GM anymore and I can't think of anyone at this point who would "go after" the GM. The character of the GM is so stale. They teased us with big names and built up suspense, only to not reveal the identity of the GM. Then, they teased the GM as a heel, then a mix between heel and face.
Most have gotten to the point where they don't give a shit who the GM is unless it ended up being a huge name. Even so, it would be hard to make the GM a big name like Austin, Rock, or Shawn because the GM has been such a frightened bitch in the past who communicates through Michael Cole. WWE needs to just have the anonymous GM "quit" and then get a big name to do it...or at least someone who can appear on camera. Everytime the tone hits and "we have an email" it is like "Really? This shit again?" It has become more of an interruption to the show than part of it. It just sucks that it is routine now that one guy comes out and challenges another guy or 4 people come out arguing over who the number one contender should be and then they had an awkward pause or argue amongst each other, obviously expecting the anonymous GM to chime in with a match. At least someone's music hitting and an actual personality announcing the match would make for a better segment. Enough is enough with this crap. |
i think they've painted themselves into a corner. if i was vince Id pay Paul Heyman a shit load to appear as the GM.

it was all a dream.

The Raw GM was a stupid idea to begin with I've never been a fan but at this point they can't stop it unless they get someone REALLY good to fill the spot. I mean if Abraham Washington came out and was the GM I'm fairly certain it would get 0 to no reaction at all and would probably piss alot of people off.

Knowing the WWE, the odds are if there ever is a reveal, it will most likely involve a McMahon whether it were Vince, Stephanie, or even Shane if he decided to come back.

It's not the worst thing in the world. It's just a random storyline device that sets up matches and furthers angles. It's completely harmless.
There's no rule that says the GM has to be a big deal. |

Remember before Jericho left he said he would find out who the GM was and reveal them to the world. I'm sure Jericho will be back, hopefully by SummerSlam and then the whole GM thing will be over. If not it's not that big of a deal. Yes it's useless and sometimes annoying but it's better than just picking someone like Abraham Washington who nobody knows or gives a damn about. Paul Heyman would be cool if the WWE could get him on board but he's busy helping Shane Carwin over in the MMA world.

It's a great device that they can use, it always has people talking "who is the GM". If people are talking why change it? It's one of the best ways to save time and make matches easily, without having HBK or Austin or Flair or whomever play the role and take up 15 minutes of precious Raw time trying to stay over with the fans. I personally love the GM right now because the whole concept of a GM or Commish or whatever got a little bit much, like it was a essential to wrestling to have an authority figure, instead of a behind the scenes match maker. It's different and it's good.

It all depends on when Lock Jaw decides to come clean and reveal himself.

Eventually though, of course it will surface and get to the point where it is stale. Then the best choice I think would be Triple H, because he is the only one who could have a long term feud with a rising superstar that would benefit the rising superstar ala Austin/McMahon. Plus, he is basically leading the company in real life anyway so let's just make it a semi shoot and have Triple H eventually run WWE on screen as well.
This could even be a way to turn The Miz baby face in due time if they desired too. |
If Jericho comes back, I can only see a few different things happening. I'll rank them in order of likelihood:
1) The "find out who the GM is" thing will be forgotten. (90%) 2) Jericho "lost the trail". (8%) 3) Jericho is revealed as the GM. (1%) 4) Jericho reveals who hte GM is. (1%) |

the only solution now is to just pick a new gm have them come out break the laptop and move on. everyone is bored with the current arrangement so whoever is new gm breaking the laptop will get over quickly and just chalk it up with who was in the hummer

Edge shows up, announces he has gone to vince, got rid of the anonymous gm, and is your new raw general manager. He then proceeds to rochambeau Michael Cole
|
Jesus Christ, and people shit on WWE for treating fans like they have no attention spans.
|
The Anonymous General Manager is merely a device, as Supreme said.
|
Also, Owen Hart's theme was awesome.
